PRESENTATION BY: PROFESSOR JAMES E. YOUNG

The Meriden Library is proud to welcome Professor James E. Young, founder of

the Institute for Holocaust, Genocide and Memory Studies of UMASS Amherst in

to speak about his new book “Stages of Memory : Reflection on Memorial Art,

Loss and the Spaces Between”. Professor Young has been asked by numerous

organizations worldwide to help survivors of irreparable loss form poignant

public memorials.

This presentation is made possible by generous donations to the Friends of

the Meriden Public Library to support the library’s new Temple B’Nai

Abraham World War II Holocaust and Genocide Collection, which offers

everyone the opportunity to learn from the past in order to improve the future

for all humanity.

Friends of the Meriden Public Library Birthday Fundraiser

105 Miller Street, Meriden, CT 06450 (203) 238-2344

Facebook will prompt you to create a birthday fundraiser around a week before your birthday. If you miss this one, you will get the prompt again on the day of your birthday. When the prompt appears in your Facebook feed, click “Create.” Search for “Friends of the Meriden Public Library”. When it appears, select. You can select a specific picture to go with your fundraiser, or you can use the default picture. Facebook defaults the fundraiser amount as $200, but you can increase or decrease this amount. The amount does not limit the amount of donations – your friends can keep donating for as long as the fundraiser is active, even if the amount you selected is passed. Select the end date for your fundraiser. Facebook will ask you to invite friends from your friends list. You can invite all your friends to participate, or you can limit the friends who will see your fundraiser.
