It is almost unbelievable that May has arrived already. While school doesn’t let out
this year until June 6, there are many end-of-year activities that will take place this
month. I encourage you to come and enjoy the activities as we wind down another
successful year and begin to look ahead. Ecclesia
One particularly exciting event that will take place on May 9th is the dedication of a
Friendship Bench through the Mayor’s Ball and Tiny Girl, Big Dream, Inc. You can
learn about this project on-line. I would like to thank the donor of our bench, Wade
Trim, for their donation. We learned about this project, last year and student council
was planning on creating something like this with their funding. Instead it was
donated. At the dedication, the Mayor and Acacia, the 11 year old who founded this
organization with her mother will be speaking. The bench will then be permanently
placed on our campus.
I would also like to mention the Spaghetti Dinner being given in our honor by the
Knights of Columbus. This year, it will be on May 17th. Please make an effort to
attend. The Knights fund the dinner and all of the proceeds go to the
school. Tickets are available in the school office. I hope you join us!
Blessings - Claudia Allen Stokes

Marcos, explored the Pirate &
Treasure Museum, learned a lot
about history at the Colonial

News From the Science Lab
The 8th grade ended their unit on Energy Transfers and Simple Machines with a very popular lab. In small groups, they researched and then built their own Rube Goldberg type Machine. A Rube Goldberg Machine uses a complicated contrap on to complete a simple task such as popping a balloon or feeding fish. Using items such as pool noodles, marbles and toy cars, they demonstrated their knowledge of how each simple machine works and how they could transfer energy using them. This was a great prac cal demonstra on of their knowledge!

Thank you to Mr. Martelli, Science Enrichment and all
of our parent volunteers that helped both at the event
and transpor ng cans.
