in learning Chinese, want to use your
Chinese, or learn more about
Chinese culture. As soon as you
arrive, you become a villager
and are immersed in the

culture. Activities such as
calligraphy, watercolor
painting and playing
Chinese games will help
you build your Chinese skills
and cultural intelligence while
having fun in the process.

Why Learn Chinese?Learning Chinese connects you
with almost one fifth of the world's
population. Knowing another
language enriches your cultural
understanding and helps you make
bonds with new friends from different
backgrounds. A second language can
even help you get a job in the future.
Special Programs
Sēn Lín Hú offers summer youth and family programs,
such as one- or two-week programs and a four-week
high school credit program for high school students.
Life at Sen Lín Hú
Life at Sēn Lín Hú is infused with Chinese. Counselors from the United States and Chinese-speaking countries engage with villagers and share experiences using vocabulary, repetition, and actions to increase understanding and retention.
Camp Activities Can Include:

Made from fresh ingredients, you will eat a familiar stir fry and rice as well as foods you may not have tried before. Eating meals at Sēn Lín Hú will seem like you are eating in a small Chinese restaurant or a large Chinese home.

Village Location
Sēn Lín Hú is located at the Maplelag resort, which is near Callaway in rural northwest Minnesota. The minute you arrive at Sēn Lín Hú you will feel as if you traveled across the world to China.
Every day is like a new adventure abroad
Participants become "villagers" and live in the language and culture from the moment they wake up to the close of the day.
