western Amhara

• to select the best performing Rhizobial strain for faba bean production in western Amhara,
• to determine optimum rate of P fertilizer for faba bean production in western Amhara.

Materials and Methods–Treatments: 13 treatments (4 P rate combined with 3 Rhizobium strains with control treatment without inoculant and P)• 4 P rates ( 0,23, 46 & 69 kgha-1 P2O5) as TSP (0-46-0) side-banded with the seed,• 3 strains R. leguminosarum bv.viciae:
– Inoculant 1 – Inoculant 2 – Inoculant 3
•18 kgha-1 N will be used as a starter for all plots,•Recommended lime rates for each district will be applied,•Source of inoculants:
–National soil lab.,–Holeta ARC,–Menagesha Biotech PLC
