• Ayurveda or Ayurveda medicine is a system of traditional medicine is native to Indian subcontinent and a form of alternative medicine

• The oldest known ayurvedic texts are the SuśrutaSaṃhitā and the CharakaSaṃhita.

• Total global herbal market is of a size of 90 billion dollars

• India has 16 Agro-climatic zones, 15 biotic provinces 45000 different plant species and 15000 medical plants that include 7000 Ayurvedic, 700 in unani medicine, 600 in sidha medicine and 30 in modern medicine.

• There are number of companies producing Ayurvedic medicine in India, but most of them are quite small, including numerous neighborhood pharmacies that compound ingredients to make their own remedies

from similar industries, which are manufacturing and marketing the Ayurvedic products

• Nagarjuna Herbal Concentrates Ltd. as ISO 9001:2000 certified company was establish in the year 1989 with the mission to contribute to ayurveda in a creative manner in Kerala and else where. Within a short span of 25 years, Nagarjuna has become the second largest Ayurvedic house in Kerala, with a turnover of 27crores and include over 800 retail outlets in Kerala and over 150 outside the state.
