process for the preparation of detailed design and tender
documents for the remaining blocks of Package 5, bids were
received in December and the technical and financial evaluation
process will commence in the New Year. In support of the
community participatory process which is underway in the
remaining three packages, technical advice was provided by the
Senior Socio-economist in the HQ Infrastructure and Camp
Improvement Department. The purpose of the week long
mission was to strengthen the mechanisms for community
engagement in relation to the planning process and to meet
with relevant community stakeholders as part of this process.
The evaluation of tenders for the protection of Archeology
soundings in Package 7 & 8 which have been completed took
place in December and the works are expected to start in
January.
The bids received for Lot 10, Lot 11 and Lot 12 were ratified
by the Area Committee for Procurement at headquarters
level in December and donor approval was requested from
the Saudi Fund for Development prior to the finalization of
the contracts with the selected contractors. It is expected
that works on site will commence in February 2016 once all
of the relevant formalities have been completed. The
reconstruction of Blocks N23, N24, N6R1, Water Tower and
Mosque continued to progress slowly during the month.
Notwithstanding this, however, partial handovers of
reconstructed buildings took place and eleven buildings
were handed over to beneficiaries. As part of the tendering
