We have full size student salons within our schools. On salon days you will perform all the day to day activities that are

expected in the Hair & Beauty Industry including consulting clients, reception, retailing products, merchandising stock,providing treatments to the public, re-booking and cleaning. Salon days are busy and exciting as you get to put intopractice the theory and practical skills you have learnt in the classroom.

During your training you get to work with popular product ranges such as Thalgo, Bio Pacic, Cynos, Catalinageo, Lishand many others. You will have the opportunity to attend various product knowledge training days, which you willreceive certicates when graduating.

Depending on the course you undertake, for Beauty Therapy you will learn to use a huge range of beauty machineryincluding Brush Machine, Vaporzones, Galvanic, High frequency, Faradic, Microdermabrasion, Dermatherapy, Spray-tanand Vichy Shower. For Hairdressing you will learn to work with general equipment found within a salon environment,

including steamers, dryers and rollerballs.

Depending on the course enrolled, Beauty student kits may include; towel and gown kits, manicure and pedicure kits,acrylic nail kits (for nail courses only) and uniform top, and name badge which are included in the price of your fees. Hairstudent kits may include; uniform, name badge, head blocks, scissors and an extensive equipment and tool kit which is

included in the price of your fees. There’s nothing else to pay!

For each practical skill you learn there is extensive

theory that must be covered to ensure you can perform

treatments safely and efciently. We make our theory

classes as interesting and interactive as possible. Theory

lessons usually involve weekly homework and revision

quizzes.

Fll tmOur full time course involves attending three days per week,providing students with valuable face-to-face training. Webelieve this is the optimum way to learn Beauty Therapy

as students are able to receive more supervision whilerening their skills, access the schools resources and canbuild supportive relationships with other students studyingwith them. Most students nd they are also able to committo a part-time job on the days they do not attend thecourse, allowing them to nance their studies.

Pa tmOur part time course involves two evenings per week andevery second Saturday. This may vary depending on thecourse being undertaken. Part time study is a great optionfor those who wish to combine studying with working fulltime or with family commitments

Our most popular and highlyrecommended Beauty course is

Diploma of Beauty Therapy. Thisis widely regarded in the BeautyIndustry as the qualication mostemployers look for. Completingyour Diploma will give you thewidest range of job opportunities.

The Diploma gives you an in depth knowledge of all areasof Beauty Therapy and is a great foundation if you areconsidering university studies in paramedical aesthetics.

Areas of study include Anatomy and Physiology,Microdermabrasion, Waxing, Tinting, Manicures, Pedicures,Make-up, Spa Treatments, Massage, Facials, Spray Tanning,Reception Duties, Professionalism, Communication,

Electrolysis and Diathermy, and much more. (See page 11for a full list of subjects covered)

As a bonus to our Diploma course, we also offer studentsan opportunity to learn some extra and NEW BeautyTreatments such as Tooth Gems, Eye Lash extensions andan Introduction to Cosmetic Physician Treatments.

This certicate course equips

students with the knowledge

and skills to become successful

Beauty Therapists. Subjects

include Waxing, Lash and Brow

Treatments, Facial Treatments,

Manicures, Pedicures, Make Up,

Body Massage and much more.

This is a very comprehensive course however we generally

encourage students to complete the Diploma of Beauty

Therapy to obtain a full knowledge of Beauty Therapy,

as Certicate IV does not include Day Spa Studies,

Electrolysis, Diathermy or any of the bonus subjects.

This course is offered:

Full Time: approx 9 months 3 days per week

Part Time: approx 12 months 2 nights per week and one

day a fortnight

Correspondence: 10 Self Paced Modules (See page 10).

*Please note: Students completing Diploma or Certicate IV may upgrade toinclude Certicate II in Nail Technology for a reduced price. We highly recommend this option as it increases your employment opportunities upon graduation.

This is our popular andrecommended nail course. This isa very extensive course providingthorough training in both theoryand practical areas of nail studies.It includes Acrylic and Gel Nails aswell as Electrical Nail Equipment,

Manicures, Pedicures, Nail Art and a wide range of othersubjects to enable students to gain knowledge to becomea successful Nail Technician.

This course is run regularly throughout the year and takeapproximately 6 months part time to complete.(See page 11 for a full list of subjects covered)

Katrinas School of Hair & Beauty offers students aexible alternative to studying on campus. We provide acomprehensive correspondence study schedule, which willallow you to gain nationally recognised Accredited BeautyTherapy Qualications from home.

We offer a program of 11 Modules for Diploma ideally

completed over a period of 18 months.

Students are also required to attend Four to Five on-campustraining weeks depending on the chosen course. Alternativelystudents who live in close proximity to either campus canattend practical days on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

We offer the option of attending either our Brisbane orTownsville campus to complete the practical requirementsof the course. Practical training hours are a compulsorypart of the course and will ensure you gain valuable handson experience while studying your course.

We understand the challenges of studying by

correspondence and are committed to providing you withassistance you may require. Our administration staff andtrainers are contactable 5 days per week by phone orany time by email. We can also give you details aboutaccommodation in the area.

We offer Certicate IV in Beauty Therapy and Diplomaf Bay thapy a cpc c.

Your correspondence course can be started at any timeconvenient to you.

The course contains 10 Modules for our Certicate IV inBeauty Therapy and 11 modules for our Diploma of BeautyTherapy. Each module is designed to take approximately 6weeks to complete.

Many High Schools now provide students with anopportunity to attend a Vocational Educational Training(VET) course while still at school. If this is something of interest to you, you’ll need to check with your school tosee if they offer this opportunity. some test or exams students may refer to reference material duringtests/exams as the emphasis is on accessing and applying the correct

provision of training and other services. Our Code of Practice describes

the minimum standards of our student services. All personnel will have

knowledge of the Code of Practice and abide by its provisions. We also

provide students with a student code of practice which outlines school

expectations in their orientation manuals.

provision of language, literacy and numeracy (LL&N) assessment

services. Where necessary, arrangements will be made for students

requiring Literacy and/or Numeracy support. This will be out-sourced to

the relevant qualied experts. Any fees incurred are the responsibility of 

the student.

Recognition of Qualications issued by another RTOKatrinas School of Hair & Beauty recognises qualications issued by other

Registered Training Organisations. If students want to have qualications

recognised, they will need to submit certied copies of their certicates

and transcripts to the school prior to enrolment.

Students who have completed appropriate training or who through prior

learning and experience have gained the required skills/competencies

stipulated for the modules of the course may be granted credit upon

substantiation of that claim. If a student wishes to apply for RPL/RCC

then they must obtain an RPL/RCC form and complete it with their

enrolment form and lodge it together. There is a fee for this process.

Katrinas School of Hair & Beauty offers a fair and exible refund policy.

Student refunds are considered on a case by case basis. It is the student’s

responsibility to make sure relevant documentation is completed and

forwarded to the administration ofcer within the time frame required for

each circumstance. There are no refunds issued after the commencement

of a course. Students who begin courses are liable for the full amount of 

the course once the course commences. Any contractual payment plans

must be honoured.

The orientation on the rst day of class outlines student services available.

Any student who may suffer trauma or extreme matter outside of our

expertise or control, we will make every attempt to refer the student to

Outcomes, and Assessment procedures are outlined.

• A deposit of $1000 is required to secure a placement
