  • Naismith Hall Resident Scholarship for 2016 Olathe East High School Graduate

    Scholarship Application Guidelines

    One - $500 Scholarship will be awarded annually to a 2016 graduating Olathe East High School senior who will be attending the University of Kansas, Lawrence full-time during Academic Year 2016-17 and living at Naismith Hall, a Private Residence Hall serving students attending KU. This scholarship is open to all graduating seniors (regardless of academic standing) signed up to live at Naismith Hall. (To sign up to live at Naismith Hall Click Here.) It is a one-time award payable to the student when he/she arrives on campus for the fall semester. The scholarship is intended to assist with housing costs for their freshman year at Naismith Hall. It has been established to reward a high school student who is a positive role model and has demonstrated both academic achievement and citizenship through their high school and greater community service efforts.

    Return your completed application documents following the guidelines below via email to [email protected] on or before April 30,, 2016. Applications will not be accepted after this deadline. Application Process: To be considered for this Naismith Hall Scholarship, applicants must:

    1. Submit a copy of their most recent official high school transcript certified by your high school.

    2. Submit a cover letter to the Naismith Hall General Manager addressing the two topics below. a. Discuss their future academic and career goals at The University of Kansas. b. Describe how they have served their high school through activities/clubs/sports

    and their community through community service activities.

    All information above must be submitted via email to [email protected] by April 30, 2016. Only applications including all items requested above along with an official high school transcript will be considered.
