Namaste in the Jungle: Yoga in Costa Rica Program Overview Costa Rica is one of the most bio-diverse naons in the world. With more than 500,000 species calling Costa Rica home, it is a habitat that embraces the natural state of Oneness and connecon. Here, we will journey into our yoga pracce as a way to connect or find Oneness with all of Nature’s beings. Using Costa Rica’s diverse habitat as our inspiraon, we will pracce yoga as a means to connect and find unity among others—human and non-human. Addionally, to make our connecon tangible, we will parcipate in local community service and eco-excursions. On this trip, we will live at Samasati Retreat and Rainforest Sanctuary, surrounded by the natural habitat of the rainforest. Located in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, Samasati is a short distance from the luxurious Costa Rica’s Caribbean Coast. As such, our academic classes will often take place on the beach, and our yoga classes will be in Samasati’s rainforest yoga studio. Additionally, because we are studying universal wellness, we will engage in a local service learning project in Puerto Viejo. While on the study abroad trip, we will spend most of our days in class either in the rainforest yoga studio, in the jungle, or on the beach. Day and evening trips to town in Puerto Viejo will also be available. Our trip will commence and end together in San Jose, offering a taste of metropolitan life in Costa Rica
