NAMASTENamaste, Namaste, I bow, to the soul within.
When I rest in my heart, and you rest in yours, we are one, we are one.
Hari Om
In yoga we greet each other with the auspicious salutation, “Namaste”. Instead of simply saying “hello” to the physical form of
another, the word “Namaste” acknowledges that the spirit/soul/light within me, honours that same spirit/soul/light within you. The heart is where we most easily feel connection to this inner space, therefore
when we say “Namaste” we also place the hands into prayer mudra (anjali) at the centre of the chest.
From our hearts to yours….Namaste.
GAYATRIOm Bhur Bhuvah Swaha
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dimahi
Diyoyonah Prachodayat
Gayatri Mantra is an ancient mantra from the Rig Veda and it honours and appreciate the sun, not just as the earth’s source of
light, heat and nourishment, but also as a symbol of the light that lives within us all. A translation of this mantra is:
“The eternal earth, air and heaven. That glory, the resplendence of the sun.
May we contemplate the brilliance of that light.May the sun inspire our minds.”
LOKA SAMASTHALoka Samastha Loka Samastha
Sukino Bhavantu
May all beings everywhere in the world x2
May all beings be happy and free.
There is no better sentiment than to wish all beings everywhere to be well. The beauty of reciting this mantra is that we cultivate compassion
within ourselves and we become less selfish and self-absorbed. Instead, we can see the suffering in the world and make the
conscious choice to generate love towards everyone, everywhere, because when we are filled with love, those around us might feel it too. The distinctive melody for this chant came to Angelique as she was rehearsing another song for a Kirtan performance. The mantra
arose with the melody and simply would not dissolve until she captured it on her harmonium.
WALTZ OF THE GODDESSOm Shree Maha, Laxmi Namaha
Om Shree Ma, Devi Ma
Jaya Ma Ma Ma Ma
Durga Ma, Kali Ma, Saraswati
In the arms of the mother, embraced by Thee.
The depth of your love flows endlessly.
Your Grace, Your Grace, reveals my soul.
One with All. I am now home.
This chant contains the names of the Hindu Goddesses, Laxmi, Devi, Durga, Kali and Saraswati. “Ma” of course means “Mother”, and
“Jaya” means “Victory” so we praise the divine mother in all of Her forms by singing this mantra. Ginny wrote this song whilst driving to her
mother’s house, and she dedicates it to all mothers everywhere.
ROYAL TRANSFORMATIONNataraja Shiva Shambho
Jaya Shiva Shankara Nataraja Shiva Shambho
Jaya Shiva Shankara Hara Hara
Nataraj Shivaya
This is a devotional chant to the Hindu deity Shiva which acknowledges him as a powerful being of transformation. Shiva is also known as ‘Lord
of the Dance’, Nataraja. The word Shambho translates as “the auspicious one” and it is believed chanting this sound has the power to free you to a higher consciousness. Angelique wrote this chant as she navigated her way through a major change in her life, calling on
Shiva’s wisdom to guide her to her true path.
OM SHANTIOm Shanti, Om Shanti, Om Shanti Om
Hey Durgayei, Lead me to the light.
“Om” is the sound of all of creation, the vibration of the universe. In fact, in the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali states that Om is the sound of God.
“Shanti” translates as “peace”. “Durgayei” is another name for Durga, the protective, fierce and loving Goddess. In Buddha’s words, “Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without”. The repetition of the words “Om Shanti” can offer a sense of calm and in doing so, offers a way to
internalize a sense of lightness within.
SATCHITANANDASat Chit Ananda x3, I am Truth, Light, Bliss
Aham Prema x 3, I am Divine Love
Om Shanti x 3, I am Peace, Peace, Peace
Repeating uplifting mantras can truly change your mood and re-orient your mind to a place of peace. These 3 mantras can be used anytime,
anyplace. “Satchitananda” more actually translates as absolute existence (truth), divine consciousness (light) and sublime bliss.
DANCING SHAKTIOm
Om Shakti
Om Namah Shivayah x3 Shakti Shakti
Bolo Bolo Bolo Shakti
Bolo Bolo Maha Shakti
“Shakti" is the divine feminine, the Goddess, spiritual power. Whilst "Shiva" is the divine consciousness which permeates through the whole
universe. This chant was written by Cass and it is her interpretation of the strength, protection and grace she thought of when looking at images of the Goddesses, Durga and Kali. The chant offers time for reflection to
those who wish to explore those aspects within themselves.
LOVING KINDNESSMay you be filled with loving kindness.
May you, may you be well.
May I be filled with loving kindness.
May I, may I be well.
May we be filled with loving kindness.
May we, may all of us be well.
Om Mani Padme Hum x3 Om
Open your heart to love x3 Om
Considered the most universal and popular mantra in Tibetan Buddhism, Angelique composed this arrangement to share this beautiful chant in her yoga classes. The first word “Om” is the sound of all of creation, the vibration of the universe. The word Mani means "jewel", Padme is the
"lotus flower” and Hum represents the spirit of enlightenment. The benefits of reciting this mantra are infinite.

"Swaha" means "Offering" and this CD is our offering to the divine and to you. Peace in the world begins right here within ourselves and we hope that these songs help to invoke that
feeling of deep calm and compassion. These songs are composed of mantras, sacred words and sounds in the ancient Indian language, Sanskrit. Mantra means "to protect the mind". And what does the mind need protecting from? Our incessant
thoughts! So the repetition of these mantras give the mind something wholesome and uplifting to hang onto, helping us
rise above our problems, to remember and recognize the depths of our spirit.
