Jane Goodall's Wild Life
Jane goodall was born on april 3 1934 in
London england. She growed up on englands sunny
southern Coast in the seaside town of bournemouth.
The town is known for its seven_mile stretch of
lovely uninterrupted beaches. Nearby is New Forest
where wild ponies rome freely. With such wonderful
surroundings its no surprise that Jane loved nature;
nor is it a surprise that she expressed interest in
becoming a scientist at an early age
MONDAY WEEK 19
As a young girl, jane loved to read about african
animals and she especially enjoyed rudyard Kiplings
Just So Stories. She also enjoyed writing and her
mother helped her produce her own weekly newspaper
about animals. When Jane finished school her mother
could not afford to send her to the university so jane
began working, after several years, a school friend
invited Jane to visit her in kenya so Janes dream of
seeing africa came true

It was in 1957 at the age of 23 that Jane
arrived in kenya. After visiting her friend Jane hope
to stay on in africa to study. She went to see Dr
louis leakey a famous sientist who was studying the
earlyest history of humankind through fossils and
bones found in africa. After Jane had worked for a
time with dr leakey he suggested that she study the
chimpanzees near lake tanganyika in Tanzania this was
a life=changing move for Jane.
WEDNESDAY WEEK 19
Jane spent winters in england at Cambridge
University but she spent the rest of her time with
the chimps she observed their behavior and made
many discoveries, including new ways to study animal
communities. Jane has written many books, including
"My life with the chimpanzees." She has also been the
subject of numerous books, such as the childrens book
Jane Goodalh pioneer Researcher by jayne pettit read
it to learn more about her.
