Introduction:In the present days Automated systems have lessmanual operations, high flexibility, reliability andaccurate. Especially in the field of electronicsautomated systems are giving good performance.our project STREET LIGHT AUTOMATION is tocontrol the switching of Street Lightsautomatically according to the density of thetraffic.In our project we are going to make use of
devices called sensors which detects the vehicleaccording to which the street lights are made ONand OFF and the Control unit consists of amicrocontroller with its associated circuitry.

Description: The proposed model is achieved by sensing an approachingvehicle and then switches ON a block of street lights with100% intensity ahead of the vehicle. As the vehicle passesby, the trailing lights dim to 20% intensity automatically.Thus, we save a lot of energy . So when there are novehicles on the highway, then all the lights remain dim.Sensors used on either side of the road senses vehiclemovement and sends logic commands to microcontroller toswitch the intensity of the LEDs. Thus this way ofdynamically changing intensity helps in saving a lot ofenergy. The project uses a microcontroller . The street lights
automatically switches ON when the sunlight goes below thevisible region of our eyes. This is done by a sensor calledLight Dependent Resistor (LDR) which senses the lightactually like our eyes. It automatically switches OFF lightswhenever the sunlight comes, visible to our eyes.

Implementation: The illumination comes from LED bulbs, which are
triggered by sensors. As a person or car approaches,their movement is detected by the closest streetlight,and its output goes up to 100 percent. Because thelights are all wirelessly linked to one another, thesurrounding lights also come on, and only go backdown to 20 percent once the commuter has passedthrough. The lights' wireless communications systemalso allows them to automatically notify a central
control room when failures (such as burnt-out bulbs)occur. This should make maintenance much simpler, ascrews will know exactly where to go, and when .

Need for the innovation:
Lots of energy is wasted when there is no
vehicle movement especially during night allthe lights on the highway remain ON. Sincecurrently there is a high demand for power,we can implement this idea and save thepower. Also the government spends moremoney for power consumption by the streetlights.
