Names like Narayana Murthy and Steve Jobs are not new to you. These are
few of the people who have given a rational definition to the world of
Information technology. They have shown that "thinking big" is what every
leader should do. Naryana Murthy represented Infosys on the global map and
Steve Jobs for Apple. They now stand as the youth icons this is one of the
common things that they share.
Lets us find out more of the common or similar things that they share.
1. Engineers
Both Narayana Murthy and Steve Jobs are basically engineers.
Murthy graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, University of Mysore in 1967 after attending government school. He received his master's degree from IIT Kanpur in 1969.
Jobs attended Cupertino
Junior High School and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, and frequented after-school lectures at the Hewlett-Packard Company .
He was soon hired there and worked with Steve Wozniak as a summer

Both the tech gurus made their debut in 1980's. Along with six other engineers, Murthy co-founded Infosys in 1981 in Pune with an initial capital of 10,000 rupees, which was borrowed from his wife Sudha Murthy.
In the late 1970s, Jobs, with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Mike Markkula, and others, designed, developed, and marketed one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers. In the early 1980s, Jobs was among the first to see the commercial potential of Xerox PARC's mouse-driven graphical user interface, which led to the creation of the Macintosh

Narayan Murthy articulated, designed and implemented the Global Delivery Model which has become the foundation for the huge success in IT services outsourcing from India.

CEOs: Both Narayan Murthy and Steve Jobs served as the CEOs of their respective companies and later resigned at their own wish.
Murthy served as the CEO of Infosys for 21 years and was succeeded by co-founder Nandan Nilekani in 2002.
After losing a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs resigned from Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher-education and business markets. Apple's subsequent 1996 buyout of NeXT brought Jobs back to the company he co-founded, and he served as its CEO from 1997 until 2011.

What was the most common between the giants was their resignation. They resigned in the same month of the same year with a difference of four days. N R Narayana Murthy stepped down as Chairman of Infosys on Aug 19 just a day before his 65 birthday bringing the curtains down on his 30-years of illustrious innings.

the next CEO of Apple.
