INTRODUCING THE HINTONS

Nate and Heidi Hinton and family are missionaries with Africa Inland Mission (AIM.) After several years of Church ministry in the USA, they were called to ministry in Africa. Having spent 5years in various support ministries in Kenya, Nate and Heidi feel led to lay aside their familiar “fishing nets” and join a cutting edge missionary training and church planting ministry within AIM called TIMO!

WHAT DO THE HINTONS PLAN TO DO WITH TIMO?

With the incredible success that TIMO has been blessed with, AIM wants to accelerate the number of new TIMO teams started each year (we dream of starting TEN or more teams per year!) Even starting a few teams though, requires an incredible amount of organization, planning and logistical work, which Nate and Heidi have committed to fully give themselves to over the next few years.

At the home base in Tanzania, Heidi will spend her time doing finances and assisting with the administration for TIMO, while Nate will spend much of his time on the road (and far beyond the road) surveying team locations, building community relations, and preparing accommodations prior to teams arriving.

“For me, the two years with

TIMO were glorious. Everything

– language, culture, worldview-

was stripped away. All my

worldly dependencies were

being broken by the Holy Spirit.

God showed me his wonderful

faithfulness

and

amazing

grace.”

Training In Ministry Outreach. TIMO is about three things:

Missionary Training in Multinational Teams

Church Planting Unreached people groups There are over 900 people groups in Africa who are yet to be reached with the Gospel. AIM is committed to focusing its people and resources toward bringing a knowledge of Christ to these peoples, and TIMO is a major vehicle for that to hap-pen. Once a location has been established, a multinational TIMO team arrives in a community and immerses itself into it... living with the people, as the people do, learning the local dialect and culture. From DAY ONE, TIMO teams engage the culture with the love of Christ, while going through a rigorous and practical mis-sionary training program that no traditional Bible College anywhere can come close to! TIMO has placed over 40 teams from the deserts of North Africa all the way to the mountains of Lesotho. Thousands have come to know Christ, dozens of indigenous churches have been planted, and hundreds of missionaries been trained! Teams also bring a valuable and appropriate tangible blessing to each location, which could take the form of teaching, farm-ing, water, or community health projects, etc. Check out this short TIMO video: http://aimint.org/usa/explore/videos/17-timo-two-year-outreach Locations are a general idea only

AIM is a non-denominational, international organization with over 100yrs history work-ing in Africa, and over 1000 current full time missionaries. AIM exists for “Christ Cen-tered Churches Among All African Peoples.”

“...So that your ways may be known on earth, your

salvation among all nations” Ps 67:2

Along with finances, the Hintons are counting on people to pray for them, the ministry of TIMO, and the development of the teams, on a regular basis. They will build on this partner-ship by keeping in touch with, and praying for YOU! YOU CAN EXPECT to receive monthly updates from the Hintons by email (or post if requested.) In addition to these reports, TIMO will have a new website in the next few months which will continually highlight the work of the teams. AIM is always recruiting people to come out and get involved in either a short or long term capacity, and the invitation is always open to come visit the work first hand. In short, this is not an out of sight, out of mind type of partnership. Thank you for prayerfully considering how you might become involved!

TIMO is a labor of love of the whole church, and members take on the challenge of raising their own support. While it may seem like a burden at times, it is also a wonderful opportunity for “normal folk” to take an ACTIVE role in effectively touching the lives of those whom Jesus referred to as “the least of the-se.” This is especially so, due to how uniquely effective the ministry of TIMO is in reaching difficult places. In order to be fully funded for this ministry, the Hintons need to raise about $3000 per month by their planned departure in January, 2015. A great way to partner would be to consider a monthly contri-bution through AIM for them.
