The National 2YO Sale, to be held at Germiston from Aug 13th to 14th, is a sale well and truly established as a value for money auction, which has its share of Gr1 winners and champions. Take J J The Jet Plane, who cost a modest R70 000 at the 2006 National 2YO Sale, and went on to prove himself a world class sprinter. Twice Equus Champion Sprinter (2008 and 2010), J J The Jet Plane won major feature races in four different countries – Dubai, Britain, Hong Kong and South Africa. A truly exceptional sprinter, his 15 victories included the 2010 G1 Hong Kong Sprint, where he accounted for the world class sprinters Rocket Man and Sacred Kingdom. The Apache, now standing as a stallion at the Rosed- ene Stud, was another well- bought top class athlete. The son of Mogok, bred by the Scott Bros, went for R80 000 at the 2009 National 2YO Sale, going on to prove him- self a local champion and top class international per- former. Gr1 Durban July winner Bold Silvano, a son of Silvano, has 12 lots on offer. His draft includes a colt from the family of this season’s multiple feature race winner Cat And The Moon (lot 51), a colt from the family of 2015 Gr1 SA Nurs-ery winner Arabian Beat (lot 123), a filly whose third dam is legendary racemare and broodmare Dahlia (lot 173), and a filly out of Sportsworld’s stakes winning daughter Recondite, from the Soho Secret family (lot 200). Added to this can be lot 280, a colt whose second dam is Gr1 winning 2yo Silver Arc, and lot 293, a filly out of the stakes placed Yvelines, a sister in blood to the talented Buran and his Gr1 sister Ice Belle.

Former Gr2 Dingaans winner Curved Ball is the only son of leading Australian sire Fastnet Rock at stud in South Africa. Fastnet Rock, crowned Australia’s Champion Sire for a sec-ond time in 2014-2015, is the sire of 2015 Investec Oaks winner Qualify and Gr1 winner Diamondsandrubies. Curved Ball has nine lots on offer including, a colt out of a half sister to Gr1 winning sprinter Contador (lot 8), a colt out of a half sister to Durban July winner Hunting Tower (lot 31), a filly out of a half sister to the classy feature race winning Aluvial (lot 89) and a colt from the family of champion Evening Mist (lot 166).

Dynastic Rule, the first son of the Dynasty to have runners on the track, was lightly raced but won well over 1700m. A son of the top class race mare Cholula, herself an own sister to G1 Classic winner Topa Inca, Dynastic Rule is from the family of Gr1 winner Urabamba and the suc-cessful broodmare Envious.

Dynastic Rule has two on offer, a colt out of a half sister to feature race winner Spitzbergen (lot 75), and a colt from the family of champion sprinter Sheikh Albadou (lot 183).
