National 4-H Week Is October 6-12
Dear Friends,
Autumn has arrived and the new 4-H program year is under way. National
4-H Week is October 6-12. I hope all the clubs are planning something
special for promoting 4-H and recruiting new members. The County
Council members will be visiting the 4th grade classes. Everyone can show
their 4-H pride by wearing their 4-H t-shirts to school or work. Put up
posters or a display promoting 4-H projects. The possibilities are endless!
Now is also the time to re-enroll in 4-H. We are doing online enrollment
this year through Iowa 4H Online (https://iowa.4honline.com/ ). See
page 9 for instructions. If you have any questions or concerns, please con-
tact the Extension Office.
Encourage others to join 4-H!

RECRUITMENT
JOIN 4-H!
It is that time of the year to work on new 4-H
recruits for the coming 4-H year. We need to
continually keep our membership alive and
growing with new members and new families.
Our county 4-H program is top-notch and we
need to be sure to share it with others. Per-
sonally contact friends or families in your club
area and invite them to your next meeting. Get
your whole club involved- it is not just the
leaders’ responsibility but each club member’s
responsibility to help their club grow and pros-
per. Encourage others to join.
Our goal is 500 Clayton County 4-H members!
4-H PLEDGE
I PLEDGE MY HEAD TO CLEARER THINKING, MY HEART TO GREATER LOYALTY, MY HANDS TO LARGER SERVICE,

Club Programs to Have a New Look
It’s time to start planning for the next 4-H year. It is important that club officers help in this planning. Keep in
mind that everyone has different interests. It is important to offer a variety of topics and hands-on activities
throughout the year. At the Leader Meeting on October 10 will be sharing the new Club Program template. It
will also be available online. This will be utilized in Region 4 this year. This new format is similar to your cur-
rent format, with additional sections for your club to record ideas for activities to include the 4-H Priorities:
Healthy Living, STEM, Citizenship/Leadership, and Communication/The Arts. At our Fall Leader Meeting we
will go through the new Club Program format and how to use it.
The office will run copies of your program for your members. Remember we need a copy on file prior to your
January meeting. The Club Program is important for the office to gather information and meeting dates for risk
management.
