1. Generic Metadata:

● Describes general attributes of the contents

● Adopted from Dublin Core Metadata Standard

● Adopted from Learning Resource Metadata Initiative (LRMI)

3. Thesis Metadata:

1.Set up Institutional Digital Repository (IDR) Infrastructure

2.Collect contents created in the Institute and create metadata of these contents

a) Class lecture notes/videos, PPTs, Reports, Course Materials, Previous

Years’ Question Papers, Instructor materials, reference materials

b) Faculty publications

c) Theses

3. Upload metadata and contents in IDR

4. Configure IDR to make it Open Access Initiative Protocol for Metadata

Harvesting (OAI-PMH) compliant

5. Set up Public IP address for the IDR to make accessible in Internet (not just LAN/Intranet)

Once IDR is operational,

ensure - Proper air-conditioning in IDR server room

- UPS supply power to IDR server is functioning

properly

- Power supply to the UPS is not switched off

- Regular uploading of new contents in the IDR
