National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce® INTERNSHIP PROGRAM The NGLCC recognizes an amazing internship means finding out more about who you are and what you want in your career. To that end, NGLCC has designed a program to expand knowledge about the LGBT movement, broaden your skill set, and enrich your experience, including the following: Network with LGBT leaders, business owners, and interns from other LGBT and human rights organizations. Contribute your thought leadership to important work related to the NGLCC mission. Participate in meetings with elected officials and their staff—learn how your government creates change! Build your resume and portfolio to reflect real work experience while exposing yourself to leadership in action. While interning for the NGLCC, you can take advantage of several professional development opportunities specifically designed for young professionals: Resume and portfolio development Leadership, networking, and advocacy training Time management strategy "I've already learned so much about conference planning. • Shadow full-time employees on radio and television interviews and meetings with elected officials.

• Attend special events and even get a chance to staff signature events, like the NGLCC National Conference and NGLCC National Dinner.

NGLCC is seeking motivated students for these positions: Available Internships:

• Communications Intern • Corporate Relations Intern • Supplier Diversity Intern • Meetings & Education Intern • External Affairs and Government Relations Intern

Qualifications: • A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above • Enrollment at an accredited college/university or

relevant work experience • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Mac OS

X software • Willingness to learn about and become engaged in

the business and workplace aspect of the LGBT movement

The NGLCC is a not-for-profit organization that specializes in helping lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT)-owned and operated small businesses find opportunities to work with Fortune 500 companies. Through a process of certification, we work with LGBT business owners to connect them with our network and make grassroots economic change. The NGLCC team works in a fast-paced, energetic, and committed environment serving three core constituencies:

• Small business owners • Corporate partners • Local affiliate chamber leaders
