Vision of the NHM

Attainment of Universal Access to Equitable, Affordable and Quality health care services, accountable and responsive to peoples needs, with effective inter-sectoral convergent action to address the wider social determinants of health.

The Union Cabinet vide its decision dated 1st May 2013 has approved the launch of National Urban Health Mission3

About National Health Mission (NHM)The vision of the National Health Mission (which encompasses the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) as its two Sub-Missions) is universal access to equitable, affordable and quality health care services.

NHM in the 12th Plan are synonymous with those of the 12th Plan, and are part of the overall vision.
