ABOUT NIBMNational Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) was
established in 1969 by the Reserve Bank of India, in
consultation with the Government of India, as an
autonomous apex institution for research, training,
education and consultancy in bank management. Its
mandate is to play a proactive role of “think-tank” of the
banking system. It is the first institute in India to offer a
two-year specialization in Banking & Finance. NIBM has
been certified with ISO 9001:2015 for Quality
Management System Standard.
The Institute is located in sylvan surroundings in a
picturesque valley within Pune city in the State of
Maharashtra. The Campus is spread over a 65-acre plot
of undulating landscape with minimum of distraction and
pollution. It has its own self-contained campus with
complete residential and educational facilities.

“The National Institute of Bank Management will be the trustee for India for helping
to create world-class, competitive banking and financial services capabilities. The
Institute would endeavor to offer knowledge-based products and services in the
field of bank management that are as good as, if not better than, the best anywhere
in the world. While much of the products of the NIBM would be of universal
interest, there would also be a focus on the legal and institutional aspects specific
to India. The NIBM will be the preferred partner for enabling vision, strategies,
organization, and systems, technical, managerial and leadership competencies in
the banking and financial sector, so as to help retain a high share of the domestic

PGDM (B&FS)
The two-year PGDM (B&FS), approved by AICTE inthe year 2013, is designed for managementeducation in banking and finance. It provides athorough grounding in foundation subjects, withadvanced training on analytical skills, and builds aholistic perspective on the BFSI industry. It also equips the students with a keen appreciation ofthe business challenges in the BFSI sector andprepares them for coveted managerial roles. As aresult, banks and financial institutions have alwaysplaced our students in key domains like creditmanagement, investment and treasury operations,trade finance, foreign exchange, and riskmanagement.

PGDMProgrammeHighlights
The PGDM (Banking and Financial Services) is a specially designed contemporary,
rigorous, innovative and practical course of management education. The PGDM
course at NIBM is AICTE approved.
The larger objective of the PGDM is to provide the financial system with a pool
of talented young executives thoroughly trained in foundations, analytical skills
and perspectives in banking and finance so that they are fully prepared to

STUDENTS' COMMITTEES
The Institute's alumni are its lasting legacy and strongest
voice. The integral charge of the Committee is to look for
new avenues to build an engaged alumni base. The
purpose/mission of the Committee is to foster strong bonds
among the alumni, the students and the Institute; and to
create a network which enables the informed alumni to
shape the future of their alma-mater. The Committee
organizes Alumni Meet every year which provides an
interactive platform for all the Alumni, Students and Faculty.
ANUSMARAN – THE ALUMNI COMMITTEE
Words are the tools of change. A writer and an orator, both
use words to convey meaning and this is what the Alfaaz at
NIBM Pune represents and celebrates. The Literary Club
works to bring out the literary talent of students by
organizing events for creative writing, poetry and public
speaking. NIBM Vista quarterly newsletter is published by
Alfaaz, which is a reflection of the literary prowess of PGDM
students and faculty members of NIBM.
ALFAAZ – THE LITERARY CLUB
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. Amidst all the stress
and pressures of a typical B-school life, students need an outlet
to expend their energies. The Sports Club conducts sports
events like Futsal, Box Cricket League etc. which not only serve
this purpose, but also offers them scope for physical exercise,
which is imperative for the overall health of mind and body. The
club provides students the means to showcase their sporting
talent and also discover true sportsman spirit.
UDAAN – THE SPORTS CLUB
1
The Admission Committee and Student Council acts as an
interface between the aspirants and the institute. It is the
AdComm's responsibility to facilitate the admission process,
clear the skepticism of the aspirants by displaying strong
conviction of the institute in creating effective and efficient bank
managers. Being the student council as well, the Committee is
also entrusted with the responsibility of addressing student's
grievances at the primary level.
ADCOMM & STUDENT COUNCIL

Building corporate relations and campus placements are the
primary responsibilities of this Committee. It represents the PGDM
batch on all matters related to placements. Identification of career
opportunities and enabling students to enrich and prepare
themselves for the placement processes and corporate world
therein is all constituted under the purview of this Committee. It
works as a bridge between management and the students by acting
as the voice of the entire student community at NIBM.
PLACEMENT COMMITTEE
Nothing exemplifies the rollercoaster ride of college life than the
college fest. Being the part of organizing a college fest is half
pure adrenaline rush and half total chaos. But at the end of the
day nothing teaches one management like a college fest do.
Jashn - The Fest Committee of NIBM is an amalgamation of
academic events as well as many recreational events.
JASHN – FEST COMMITTEE
Culture is a string that binds people together. And Goonj,
the Cultural Committee of NIBM strives to do the same by
integrating the diversity reflected by students coming
from different parts of the country. Not only are the
festivals celebrated with fervour, but also the recreational
events are arranged. Students, faculty members and staff
members, everyone enthusiastically participate making
the campus feel like home.
GOONJ - THE CULTURAL COMMITTEE
Media Committee is one of the most powerful Committee
of NIBM. It performs an envisaged function of creating a
communication link, both externally and internally, by
acting as the official spokesperson of the institute. The
vital role of the Committee is to maintain social presence
on various platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube
and Instagram by providing a veritable functioning and
framework of the institute.
MEDIA COMMITTEE
The E-cell serves as a bridge between budding entrepreneurs
and potential investors. To augment such initiative, club also
organizes workshops, e-summits, expos, business-plan
competitions, seminars and panel discussions to boost and
carry forward the immense pool of talent and ideas. They
endeavor to provide young students with unparalleled and
unique exposure to entrepreneurial world and believe that
entrepreneurship will open up the doors of India's quiescent
inventive talent.
E-CELL – ENTREPRENEURS' CLUB
Mess Committee plays a very significant role to satisfy
the elementary need of the students. It facilitates the
availability of quality and variety of food to over 240
students, faculty members, and academic & non-
academic staff. Also it takes care about the Nutrition
requirements, Diet and Quality of food items. Every
month it organizes feast for the students.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES
For the PGDM (B&FS) students of batch 2019-21, the summer internship assignment is scheduled from April 13, 2020 to June 5, 2020. The project isintended to give students an opportunity to participate in banking and financial sector operations. The objective is to expose the students to thedynamics of an organization and to integrate classroom learning with practical experience under the combined guidance of executives from theorganization and the faculty from NIBM. The organization which has selected the student for summer internship is requested to: • Identify an executive who will mentor the student and provide guidance on an appropriate assignment which will be mutually beneficial to theorganization and the student. • Ensure availability of relevant data that may be required by the student for the project. Evaluate the final project report and the performance of thestudent on various parameters as required by the institute. • The institute will assign a Faculty Guide to each student. The Faculty Guide from NIBM shall play the role of “Facilitator” and will also be in touchwith the Executive Guide from the Summer Internship Organization.

VITTVICHARVittvichar is the NIBM Interview Series, an
initiative by media committee, wherein NIBM
Faculty is invited to share their insights and
opinions about current scenario in banking
and financial sector in India. The series
educates management students and
professionals and helps them grasp essence
of the topic.
VITTARTHIt is an initiative by the PGDM students of
NIBM to present and share well researched
insights and informed views on the economy,
banking industry, Industry analysis and
financial issues pertaining to India and the
world in general. Vittarth is an economic and
financial forum, enlightening various
professionals and students of other B-
schools.
VISTA
Vista is the student driven E-newsletter of
NIBM Pune, published quarterly. It explores
creative insights of PGDM students and
analysis of current scenarios of banking
and financial sector by faculty members
and students, and captures various events
at NIBM.

JOSHSports committee of NIBM organises sports
fest every year. It is a series of events
ranging from field events to indoor games
along with fun fair. The events sees

students. The fest showcases lot of energy

WAR OF WORDS
Alfaaz - the Literary Committee of NIBM
organizes "War With Words - a Debate
Competition", covering topics from different
domains from contemporary to abstract and
scientific. Through the event students learn
about developing skills to examine every
side of the important and controversial
topics provided, in an atmosphere of
reasoned argument and respectful
discourse.

NIBM Colloquium
Colloquium is the annual academic seminar conducted by
the PGDM students of NIBM every year. In 50th year of NIBM,
Fest Committee in collaboration with Vittarth – the Finance
Club organized ‘NIBM Colloquium 2019-Recent
developments in the Banking and Financial Sector’ on 24th
August 2019. The event was a blend of panel discussions
and competitions. The panel discussions comprised of the
best minds from the industry while the competitions
involved participations from various B-Schools around the
country.
Adhikosh
ADHIKOSH, a student-driven mega event organized by NIBM,
Pune which sees participation from management students
all over India. It is a blend of technical competitions and
cultural activities which tests the knowledge in various
disciplines, from Stock Markets to Business Strategy. This
event hosts renowned personalities from the banking
industry at its altar.
