We are located at the centre of the West Bengal
state, the Malda district town, which is well
communicated with other districts of the state.
There is a further need of exploring the
biodiversity and bio-resources of Malda. Ours is a
young but strong organization, the University of
Gour Banga, and the Department of Zoology is a
promising organ of it, for making new vista.
We train our students in the field of modern
biological and biomedical sciences through
exploration of the local biodiversity and bio-
resources including biomedicines. The scope of
research of the Department is PG project work,
and M Phil and Ph D researches in the field of
Entomology (basic and applied), Microbiology
(medical, environmental and food), and
Immunology (basic and applied). Our students
and scholars are promising with a focus on
sustainable environmental health through their
active participation in extensive studies and
research, and various other activities of the
Institute.

It is indeed an honour of pride announcing that the seminar will be a platform to explore and share the knowledge and views among the scientists, research scholars and students in this part of the globe. The plenary/lead/invited lectures/key note speech, open oral and poster presentation will cover various facets of modern Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Here at Gour Banga (Malda) we hope that all the participants/delegates will enjoy their comfortable stay because at that time the weather remain pleasant and bright, and the seminar will be enjoyable and memorable too. Abstracts should be structured, within 200 words, containing background and objectives, methods and findings, and conclusion in Calibri 12 font size. The name of presenting author should be underlined; number of presenting authors for poster may be more than one. Title should be within 20 words in uppercase and bold. Seminar scope: All fields in Biological and Biomedical Sciences
Note: 1. For paper presentation registration of all authors is mandatory 2. Send your abstract to the organizing secretary of the seminar via e-mail: [email protected] (copy to: [email protected]) along with scanned copy of the filled-in registration form with all information. 3. Ongoing or passed out PG students can submit abstract for presentation. Accommodation is either self-arranged or its availability from the seminar committee, on first come first service basis, in the UGB guest house. Accommodation payment (approx Rs.500/night) should be made on spot.
