If you have 10 shows in a week and the average show

is $300 in sales that is $3,000 in sales and you give the

hostess $30 in product. You profit approx. $120 per show

that is $1,200 for the week. (have you ever had a $1,200

paycheck for 1 week?)

You will have an average of 2 bookings per show,

giving you additional 20 shows for the rest of the month.

Then work with each hostess to have $200.00 in outside

orders. And also have a hostess of the Week Contest. The

hostess with the highest sales gets a Great Prize.

Then invite all 10 hostesses to your weekly meeting,

where you reveal the winner of the hostess of the

Week Contest, and they must be present to win.

So if they come to your success meeting they will hear the

opportunity and you could begin building your team!

Sales Director Joyce Banks used to teach us that if you were in a restaurant and a stranger came in, they should be able to look over the crowd and KNOW who was the MK Consultant when they walked in the building. If you want success, you have to be SHARP.

Remove Nail Polish

Without Remover

If you run out of nail polish remover, you can remove

cracked or chipped nail polish by applying a clear top coat to the nail and removing it promptly

with a cotton ball.

Apply Bronzer Evenly Before applying bronzer or

self-tanning lotion, mix a drop or two of the solution with moisture cream. Blend using your finger or a Q-tip then apply to skin as you would with regular moistur-izer. This will ensure the cream

blends in & covers the skin evenly.

Lock It In

When using cream-based beauty products -- like lipstick or

foundation -- apply a dry face powder on top to seal in your

look. This also works for blush (apply a cream blush to cheeks,

then top with a dry blush).

Enroll your customers in the Summer mailing of The LOOK BOOK! March 16-April 15

PCP is the best bang for your buck anywhere. Did you know that to mail out a Look Book it cost $1.25

.... and to have MK send it out though the PCP program is cost you 70 cents per name.

+ If you have a big customer base or a medium size base this is the most effective way to keep in contact

with them.

+ If you have a very small customer base it is important to treat them just as special as you would if they

were part of a huge customer base.

+ PCP makes you look more professional and serious about your business and gives you a reason to call

them after they get the book.

MODEL PORTFOLIO by Million Dollar Sales Director Melinda Mercedes Balling

One of the easiest ways to meet and book people when you’re “out and about (warm chatter booking) is to ask them

to be your “face model”. It is so flattering to her and fun for both of you.

If you haven’t put together your portfolio yet, you’ll just need a 3 ring notebook and plastic sheet dividers. You

might want to also purchase dividers and break up in categories, for example Spring/Summer/Fall/Holiday (current

“looks” from the Look Book). Set a goal to have several models per look…for example: A red head, model “over

40”, brunette, bronze skin tone, etc.

Following is suggested dialogue you can use while you are out shopping, running errands, etc.

“Excuse me, but I couldn’t help but notice (what pretty skin you have, how great your make-up looks, how

wonderful that color looks on you, etc… “whatever you notice about her so you can pay a sincere compliment).

“My name is _____________ and I am an Independent Beauty & Image Consultant with Mary Kay. I was just

wondering if anyone has asked you to be a face model featuring our products ? If she says “no”, say “Do you have

Mary Kay consultant? If she says “No”, you can say…Great, this is my lucky day! I’d love to feature you as a face

model in my professional portfolio. When appropriate you can add, “I need a beautiful Red head, or your eye shape

is perfect for modeling our new eye looks, “etc. May I give you the details”? If she is receptive, continue with, “I

would give you a complimentary facial, we would take a before picture, do a color makeover, and then take the after

picture. Does that sound like fun? Great!” If possible, schedule her on the spot (prevents “telephone tag”). After get-

ting her commitment, you will want to say, “___________, I almost forgot to mention that you are welcome to bring

a friend. Sometimes it’s fun to bring a girlfriend along. I’ll be happy to give her a complimentary facial and make-

over as well., but I want YOU in my portfolio.”

Give her the current Look Book, point out the 4 models. Ask her to take the Look Book with her and select the

Look she likes best. Make sure your business card is attached to the front (double stick tape works great).

Look her in the eye, smile and say “_____________ I will reserve this time just for you. You can count on me.

I’ll call you to find out which Look you selected before we get together on ____________. If something should

change on your end, please let me know as soon as possible so I can schedule in another model and we can resched-

ule you. I look forward to seeing you on _________. We’re going to have a great time.”

If you have an opportunity to schedule models in at your weekly Success Meeting, you could have a qualified

class each week just by inviting women you meet while you’re “out and about”. For example, why not set a goal to

have 6 models confirmed each week. You are then likely to have at least 3 show up. That’s an extra class each week!

Great way to use your time!

Have fun creating your portfolio and building your business with this fun approach! Set a personal goal for each

week for new faces!
