SWIM MEET RULESMasters Swimming Australia Rules will apply.All events will be heat seeded400m & 800m: no form stroke permittedBranch Relay: may be cancelled if time does not

Maximum of 12 individual pool events (or 3 perday)

REGISTRATION.Registration will be held at the pool on the eve of the eventand daily at the pool.

WARM UPWarm up/cool down lanes available from 8.30 am to 9.00 amdaily in the competition pool.

Separate warm up/cool down lanes available during competition.

ENTRY DETAILSIt is anticipated that individuals will enter and pay via the official individual online entry form. Clubs will be responsible forentering relay teams manually.

POOL COMPETITION - SA AQUATIC & LEISURE CENTREWELCOME TO ADELAIDE IN 2012The SA Branch of Masters Swimming Australia is proud tohost the Masters Swimming 2012 National Championships.Adelaide has a fine tradition of hosting friendly events andthis promises to be no exception.

In 2012 the event will be swum at the new SA Aquatic andLeisure Centre at Oaklands Park, a truly amazing worldclass facility.

The National Championships are adjacent to the Easterperiod and accommodation and transport may be at a premium, so be early and ensure your requirements aremet.

SA AQUATIC AND LEISURE CENTRE

This new venue which was opened in April 2011is designedto meet FINA guidelines for swimming, water polo anddiving. There are two 50m pools of 10 lanes, dive tower,1000 sq m of leisure water, event and spectator areas.

LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATIONThe pool is located approximately 25 minutes from theCBD and adjacent to the Marion Shopping Centre. Thisnew location opens up a new range of accommodation possibilities. Traditionally swimmers have stayed in or nearthe CBD and this is still a good option with the rail serviceso close. However, new areas that will now be popular arethe beachside locations of Glenelg, Brighton, or WestBeach. We have included a short list for you to begin tosearch for something that suits you.

TRANSPORT• Oaklands Park is only 8 km from Adelaide

Airport.

• There is ample parking at the centre and it is within easy distance to public transport.

• There are buses from all directions to the Marion Shopping Centre and rail from the CBD to Oaklands Park Railway Station, which is approximately 300 metres away – a good warm up distance!

• Buses run from outside the pool every 15 minutes to Glenelg.

THINGS TO DO IN SAWe are sure many of you will be aware of the attractions of Adelaide and surrounding areas.

• There are day trips to the superb wine regions of BarossaValley, McLaren Vale, Clare or the Adelaide Hills.

• Enjoy a dolphin cruise at Port Adelaide.

• There are magnificent seaside beaches all along the coast.

• Visit the Pandas at the Adelaide Zoo.

• Visit the historic Central Market.

• Hire a free bike from Bike SA and cycle along the RiverTorrens to the beach.

• In the city visit the Art Gallery, Museum, Wine Centre and the Botanical Gardens.

• Visit historic Hahndorf and other Hills attractions for a day.

Happy HoursHappy Hours will be held daily at the conclusion of theswimming. We are negotiating to use the Function Roomat the venue.
