and Patient Safety• A collaboration between the Department of Health (DOH) and Aesculap Academy, a member of a forty-nation network in continuing education which was awarded by Frost and Sullivan as the Global Medical Professional Education Institution Award. The symposium is in support of the World Institution Award. The symposium is in support of the World Health Organization's Guidelines on Hand Hygiene and how it impacts the reduction of Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs).
• It aims to provide participants an overview of the new World Health Organization (WHO) Guidelines on Hand Hygiene in Healthcare as well as available tools and resources necessary for its effective implementation. The resource speaker for the half-day symposium is Professor Didier Pittet, MD.
