The Venue The Seymour Theatre Centre is located on the corner of City Road and Cleveland Streets, Darlington, on the outskirts of the Sydney CBD. The Parade of Bands and Commemoration Service will be held in Hyde Park, Sydney City. Entry Fees Band events (all grades) $ 350.00 per entry Solo Events $ 33.00 per entry Quartet & Quintet Events $ 55.00 per entry Percussion Events- One event $ 33.00 per entry Multiple entries $ 55.00 per person per age group Ticket Prices Day Pass Adult $15.00 per day Solos Day Pass Adult $5.00 Season (4 day) Pass $40.00 including an of cial program. Programs $10.00 each. Participating Band Member Pass - $7.50 per member. Each Band will be allocated a number of passes. The number for each band will be advised after their entry has been received. Commemoration Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony To mark the Centenary of Anzac and to remember and honour those Bandsmen and women from the banding movement who served with the Austral- ian and New Zealand Defence Forces and were killed in action or have since passed away, we are holding a Commemoration and Wreath Laying Service at the ANZAC Memorial in the southern end of Hyde Park Sydney. As part of the service, the of cial party and representatives from all Bands present will be invited to lay a wreath on the Memorial. This service will be conducted immediately following the Parade of Bands. ON STAGE MUSIC CHAMPIONSHIP The On-Stage Music Championship for all Band sections will consist of a Hymn, Test Piece, Own Choice Selection & Stage March. The Band gaining the highest aggregate points from each of the above sections will be the Champion On-Stage Band for each grade. Points for each section will be awarded as de ned in the NBCA Contest Regulations, 2015 Yearbook. The Hymn shall be a tune from a recognised church hymnal or an arrangement based thereon. The Stage March shall be selected from the NBCA list of prescribed marches, available on the NBCA website: www.nbca.asn/publications The following maximum time limits apply to the On-Stage Music Championship: • Hymn: 6 minutes • Own Choice Selection: o Open A & B Grades: 23 mins o Open C & D Grades: 18 mins o Junior A Grade: 15 mins o Junior B Grade: 12 mins o Junior C Grade: 10 mins PARADE OF BANDS The Marching Championship will include the Parade of Bands and Inspection. The Band in each grade gaining the highest aggregate points for Inspection, Drill and Music will be declared the Champion Marching Band. Points for this event will be awarded as de ned in the NBCA Contest Regulations 2015 Yearbook available from www.nbca.asn.au Music for the Marching Championship is Own Choice. The Parade of Bands is a compulsory event for all Open Brass Bands entered in the On- Stage Championship. All other Brass and Concert Bands are invited and encouraged to participate. An exemption may only be applied for under Contest Regulation 2.1.11 IMPORTANT DATES December 19, 2014: Entries close for all Open Grade Band and ALL Solo and Party events. February 19, 2015: Entries close for ALL Junior Band Grade Events. Registrations Close Own Choice Music Advice & scores due Stage Seating plans due March 3, 2015: Signed Contest Registration forms due to State body March 12, 2015: Permits close CONDITIONS OF CONTEST 1. All regulations of the National Band Council of Australia as published in the NBCA Year Book 2015 (available at www.nbca.asn.au) shall apply throughout the Championships, together with any rules or conditions submitted within this Schedule. 2. Scores: All Own Choice Music, Two (2) copies of the score of Own Choice music is to be submitted to the Contest Administrator by 19 February 2015. All scores must be submitted with all bars numbered and with no identifying marks of the Band. - For Own Choice Selection, Quartet and Quintet a full score is required - For Hymn a short score of at least two staves, with cued entries to permit an effective adjudication, must be supplied if a full score is not available - For On-Stage March and Parade of Bands as a minimum the Solo Cornet/Conductor part with cued entries to permit an effective adjudication must be supplied if a full score is not available. Illegible, unnumbered or poor copies of music will be returned to the entrant for recopy and may jeopardize the competitor’s entry if not received by the due date. Photocopies of music/and or scores will not be returned after the competition and will be destroyed by contest of cials. All competitors are advised to acquaint themselves with current copyright laws and regulations before submitting music. 3. Registrations: All Bands and band persons (including permits) must be registered with their respective State Governing Body forty two (42) days prior to the Championships (19 February 2015). Overseas Bands must lodge registrations with their applicable National Band Association by the same date or where there is no applicable national body, the Band must register with the National Band Council of Australia forty two (42) days prior to the Championships (19 February). 4. Permits: Applications for permit players must be received by the State Governing Body or the Appropriate National Association no later than March 12 2015. It is the responsibility of Bands to ensure that any Permit Players they are wishing to use will be available to play at the time they are required. If a Permit player is not available when the Band is called to the stage then the Band must proceed to the stage or risk disquali cation under NBCA Contest Regulation 14.2. We strongly advise Bands to work closely with their permit players to ensure their performance times do not clash, and, in the event that a clash is likely, to use a different permit player. 5. A draw for playing order in all events will be made by the organising committee as soon as possible after the close of entries. Competitors will be advised of the full draw as soon as practical. 6. An entrant in any Junior section must not have reached the age of nineteen (19) years as at the date of competition. 7. All entries for the 2015 Australian National Band Championships shall be submitted on the of cial entry form available at www.2015nationals.org 8. Band Association of NSW Inc. retains ownership of all performances at the 2015 National Band Championshhips and reserves the right to record any or all performances and to use those recordings for any radio, television and video broadcasting and reserves the right to permit commercial recordings of the contest. 9. Entrants in Solo and On Stage Music Championship sections must perform the Test Piece listed in this Schedule for their respective sections. Maximum time limits apply in sections where music selected by the competitor is to be performed. 10. All competitors in Champion of Champions solo events may perform their Test Piece or any Own Choice work. Time limits as indicated apply and competitors must submit an adjudicators copy with bars numbered and no other identifying markings along with a readable and useable piano part at the time of registration for this event.     CONDITIONS OF CONTEST1. All regulations of the National Band Council of Australia as published in the NBCA Year Book 2015 (available at www.nbca.asn.au) shall apply throughout the Championships, together with any rules or conditions submitted within this Schedule.2. Scores: All Own Choice Music, Two (2) copies of the score of Own Choice music is to be submitted to the Contest Administrator by 19 February 2015. All scores must be submitted with all bars numbered and with no identifying marks of the Band.- For Own Choice Selection, Quartet and Quintet a full score is required- For Hymn a short score of at least two staves, with cued entries to permit an effective adjudication, must be supplied if a full score is not available- For On-Stage March and Parade of Bands as a minimum the Solo Cornet/Conductor part with cued entries to permit an effective adjudication must be supplied if a full score is not available. Illegible, unnumbered or poor copies of music will be returned to the entrant for recopy and may jeopardize the competitors entry if not received by the due date. Photocopies of music/and or scores will not be returned after the competition and will be destroyed by contest of cials. All competitors are advised to acquaint themselves with current copyright laws and regulations before submitting music.3. Registrations: All Bands and band persons (including permits) must be registered with their respective State Governing Body forty two (42) days prior to the Championships (19 February 2015). Overseas Bands must lodge registrations with their applicable National Band Association by the same date or where there is no applicable national body, the Band must register with the National Band Council of Australia forty two (42) days prior to the Championships (19 February).4. Permits: Applications for permit players must be received by the State Governing Body or the Appropriate National Association no later thanMarch 12 2015. It is the responsibility of Bands to ensure that any Permit Players they are wishing to use will be available to play at the time they are required. If a Permit player is not available when the Band is called to the stage then the Band must proceed to the stage or risk disquali cation under NBCA Contest Regulation 14.2. We strongly advise Bands to work closely with their permit players to ensure their performance times do not clash, and, in the event that a clash is likely, to use a different permit player. 5. A draw for playing order in all events will be made by the organising committee as soon as possible after the close of entries. Competitors will be advised of the full draw as soon as practical.6. An entrant in any Junior section must not have reached the age of nineteen (19) years as at the date of competition.7. All entries for the 2015 Australian National Band Championships shall be submitted on the of cial entry form available at www.2015nationals.org8. Band Association of NSW Inc. retains ownership of all performances at the 2015 National Band Championshhips and reserves the right to record any or all performances and to use those recordings for any radio, television and video broadcasting and reserves the right to permit commercial recordings of the contest.9. Entrants in Solo and On Stage Music Championship sections must perform the Test Piece listed in this Schedule for their respective sections. Maximum time limits apply in sections where music selected by the competitor is to be performed. 10. All competitors in Champion of Champions solo events may perform their Test Piece or any Own Choice work. Time limits as indicated apply and competitors must submit an adjudicators copy with bars numbered and no other identifying markings along with a readable and useable piano part at the time of registration for this event.
