For over 80 years, the Sons of the Pioneers have musically painted unforgettable images and stories of horses, cattle, cowboys, “night herds,” tall timber, cool water, canyons and prairies. Their origi-

nal songs like Tumbling Tumbleweeds, Cool Water and Ghost Riders inthe Sky are classics forever entwined into the lore and mystique of theAmerican West.

The Pioneers accumulated more coveted honors and awards than anyone in Western music. They have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Western Music Association Hall of Fame and the National Cowboy Hall of Fame among others. The Smithsonian Institute named them as “National Treasures.”

First started by Roy Rogers and the gifted songwriters Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer, the group garnered national and international fans through appearances in over 90 movies, numerous radio shows, major label recordings and television appearances. An original American art form, Western Music expresses an eternal interest in the American West, its beau-ty, its values and its culture.

The current five members have a rich heritage with the group and are dedicated to the unique harmonies and sound which are the hallmark of the Pioneers. Tommy Nallie plays lead guitar and takes some solo parts including yodels. High tenor Ken Lattimore also plays fiddle and mandolin. Randy Rudd has a rich and clean baritone voice, plays rhythm guitar and gives some running chatter.
