Record Prospect

At the current development rate, we estimate that the world population will probably reach the level of 9.5 billions of people in 2050.

Production and consumption cycles show that, on that date, tomato consumption will be 7,5 kg procapite, for a total requirement of 70 milions tons of fresh tomato intended for transformation.

Tomato Farm S.p.A.,ownedtodaybyGavio Group,wasbornin2006bythewillofawellknownlocaltomatoesproducer.Hehadalwaysgivenhistomatoestomanycompanies,spre-adinmanydifferentareasofItaly,becauseofthelackofprocessingfactoriesinPiemonte.Thismadeitpossibletoenhancetheproductiveandqualitativecharacteristicsofthearea:landsinrotation,professionalagriculture,avaliabilityofwaterinordertoirrigateandthepossibilityoftransformingfreshrawmaterialscomingfromamaximumdistanceof50kmfromtheprocessingbuilding.

In2009GavioGrouppurchasedsomeTomatoFarm’sshares,keepingitselfapartfromtheManagement.

In2013,theGroupacquiredallthecompanysharesandstartedmanagingthecompanybyitself:sincethenithasfurtherinvestedinmachineryandspaces,makingTomatoFarmoneofthemosttechnologicalandmodernfactories.

PLANTING THE SEEDS IN THE GREEN HOUSE:varietalselectionandtransplantprogramaccordingtothewithdrawalprojectagreedwiththeFarmers’Organizations;

FROM THE SEEDS TO THE SEEDLINGS:seedlingsaredeliveredtothefarmsinordertohavethemplantedinthefields;

TRANSPLANT: ourtechnicians,togetherwiththeFarmersOrganizations,offertheiradvicestothefarmersduringtheholetransplantingphase,inordertoensurethepropergrounding;

CULTIVATION:theentireprocessofcultivationanddisciplinaryapplicationistechnicallycontrolledbyTomatoFarm,incollaborationwiththeFarmers’Organizations;

HARVESTING:theharvestingandtheconfermenttothefactoryareagreedwiththeFarmers’Organizationsandwiththefarmersthemselves,accordingtotheprocessingprogramsweeklydevelopedbyTomatoFarm;

PACKAGING: it takes place directly inline: the sterilized product is mechanically inserted into aseptic bags, of the size required by the customer;

TRADING:TomatoFarmmainlyprovidestosecondtransformationcompanies,inItalyandabroad(50%Italianmarket,50%foreignmarket).
