We are honored to invite you to an experience above the ordinary in the beautiful Cotopaxi National Park guided by our distinguished guest of honor,

John P. Milton We offer you a chance to rediscover your connection to nature and "all that is" during this

weeklong workshop. This is a powerful awareness training and meditation retreat, combined with a guided, contemporary vision quest solo in nature.

John P. Milton created “The Awareness Training” to incorporate his Twelve Principles which distil the core teachings of the world’s liberating, earth-honoring spiritual traditions. His work

has been visualized as a red thread through the book “Presence” (authors: Peter Senge, Joseph Jaworski, Otto Scharmer and Betty Sue Flowers)

Purpose of the training

Giving you an experience of profound relaxation, harmony, balance and the deeper awareness that emerges from that. Creating a setting for you to establish a deeper sense of interconnectedness with nature and a deeper connection to the natural world. Solo retreats into wild nature have served as means for revelation of vision and purpose in many cultures throughout time.

Testimonials from Sacred Passage and the way of Nature fellowship with John Milton “The whole week…was like that, filled with pristine awareness, altered reality, fuller being, seeing the wholeness and the inner-being of it all.“ - Lesha Boggs

Dear John and Sacred Passage: "I want to thank you for one of the most powerful experiences of my life. Through your Sacred Passages, you provided the environment, program and personal energy which facilitated a quantum leap in (a) synthesis and sharp focus about my purpose and work." - Kitt McCord

Retreat Program overview

The program has two parts – the solo and an advanced training

The Wilderness Solo – 25th – 29th Jan

The training will take place in Ecuador, in the remote and pristine mountains of Cotopaxi National Park. At its core the training will have a contemporary vision quest of 60 hours.

Advanced training - 30th – 31st Jan

The advanced training is for people/instructors who are interested in deepening their connection to nature and would like tools for what is needed to guide people on these solo experiences –– only for participants who have been part of the solo.

Hacienda El Tambo

El Tambo owes its name to a former pre-Hispanic inn on this spot, which was a resting and supply place in Inca times for wayfarers travelling between the highlands and the Amazon basin. This amazing location, circled by volcanoes such as Cotopaxi, Quilindaña and Antisana, is strategic for the conservation of species in danger of extinction. Hacienda El Tambo was declared Protected Woodland by the Ministry of the Environment in 1992 and actively supports conservation work in the area. Whichever way you look in this lonely land of the Andes, you cannot help but admire the magnificence of nature and the mind-blowing scenery. Hacienda El Tambo lies on the eastern slopes of Cotopaxi, at an altitude of 3,600m.
