An e-newsletter for the families and supporters of Northshore Christian Academy.
Dear Parents,
The school is bustling with an atmosphere of joyful celebration (amidst the rigors of the
academics)! The wonder and magic of the Christmas miracle can be felt among the
teachers and students. From Christmas programs to classroom projects we are
celebrating our savior's birth.
At Northshore Christian Academy, Christmas traditions abound! Preschool and
elementary students perform in five concerts. Families and friends gather from around the
world (through the WEB CAST) to enjoy this tradition at our school. Fifth graders lead
the special Christmas chapels.
Traditionally, speech meet homework intentionally begins in December. We hope it can become a tradition in
your holiday gatherings for your children to recite portions of their speech. It can inspire our students to
build their confidence with life-long public speaking skills!
We celebrate our savior’s birth! Jesus is our wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, and prince
of peace. He is the light of the world who illuminates our path and transforms our life.
May God, who is rich in mercy and grace grant you and your family a joyous Christmas!
Celebrating the miracle,
Holly Leach, Superintendent
3rd and 4th Grade fill the stage at
a packed Christmas Concert!

Introducing the new program at NCA- “Thrive Program….A help desk for life”
Every year, NCA selects a new program to fund and implement. This has included the K-5
weekly engineering class, classroom technology, 5th grade iPad program, playground remodel,
and library make-over.
Counselor Gene Berge says “We are here to support students and families in many ways.
There are often times when students are struggling and parents are overwhelmed not knowing
what to do. We partner with families to find strategies and solutions for their struggling
students in all areas whether academic, social, behavioral and emotional.”
Thrive Program FAQ’s
What is the Thrive Program? Thrive program draws together past programs and expands
services to our students and families. It includes our school counseling program, health room, academic testing, specialized tutoring, math lab class, reading lab class, study skills lessons,
friendship skills, conflict resolution skills, bully-prevention and personal safety education.
How many students have we generally served so far this year?
Health Room: 21-35 students per day
Counselors: 14-50 students per day, daily classroom presentations on bully-prevention,
friendship skills, social media integrity
Tutoring, study skills and reading/lab classes: per week 51 students in tutoring sessions, 60
students in NCA weekly tutorial classes
Classroom lessons: every class has received a monthly lesson on various developmentally
appropriate topics such as study skills, friendship, and social media.
How will this program expand?
With additional fundraising dollars, we dream of dramatically expanding the following areas:
Parent education classes and materials
Tutoring services
Student class lessons on social media integrity, personal safety, bully-prevention, friendship
skills, conflict resolution,
Career education and preparation for college
Services for students with anxiety and depression
Leadership training programs
Educational testing services
