How are the celebrations going?Navsheen:Thank you. Its an immense pleasurable moment for me and the entire family. People havent stopped calling and are giving their best wishes to us. We all are overwhelmed right now and it is surely a moment where dream comes true.Careers360:You have done great. So tell us about how you achieved AIR 1 in AIIMS MBBS entrance exam.Navsheen:In IPU CET I secured rank 5, and also appeared in AIPMT. It was surely not easy to top AIIMS, I had really worked hard for it. The best and simplest way to prepare is from NCERT books. Yo must focus on getting your basics on your tips and for that NCERT is the key.Careers360:Tell us what made you select Medicine as your profession?Navsheen:I was very keen and passionate about being a doctor since my childhood. I wanted to learn and do research in the field of medicine. Its a profession which is highly respectable and noble. In this field you also get chance to serve people who are actually in need and requires medicinal support.Careers360:Please elaborate on your preparation strategy for AIIMS MBBS 2015. How your family supported in your preparations?Navsheen:NCERT syllabus can help you crack 50% of the questions asked in the entrance exam. It also helped in getting command over the basics of each topics of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I focused on self-study and on routine basis I studied for 5-8 hours which enhances my understating level and problem solving aptitude. Moreover, the important part of my preparation was to make self-notes, and repeatedly revising the same. Besides that I also received a lot of guidance from my elder sister, family and coaching studies.Careers360:How was the AIIMS exam for you, the level of questions and what was your time management strategy during the exam?Navsheen:AIIMS MBBS exam is one of the toughest exams in medicine field because of reason and assertion based questions. I really felt exhausted during the exam because it took a lot of energy and time to solve the questions. While taking the exam, I got stuck in Physics section, I found it difficult, but rather than wasting time on it I quickly switched to Biology and later to the Chemistry section. The questions from these two sections were easy for me to tackle, and then I solved questions from English comprehension and General Knowledge section. A few questions in these sections were difficult for me, but I handled them with calmness. After solving the above section, I switched to Physics, I was left with a lot of time in my hand and devoted every second to solve maximum questions of this section. It is important to tackle time along with calmness. If you lose your patience, you will lose time and will be unable to solve questions properly. So maintain calm, peace and follow time management strategy to score good rank.Careers360: Didyou appeared in AIPMT? Since the paper has been cancelled what is your reaction over this. Will appear for AIPMT 2015 re exam?Navsheen:It is sad and unfair to the candidates who actually worked hard and appeared in AIPMT 2015. Many did their test with a passion and focus, and it might be possible for many aspirants to be unable to follow the same enthusiasm again.I will not appear inAIPMT 2015 re examas I have achieved my dream of getting AIIMS Delhi.Careers360:You prepared so hard and your preparations have paid well. Were you active in any recreational activities and what are the future plans now?Navsheen:Yes I was very much active in extracurricular activities as they helped me in rotuine studies with relaxed mind. Though I used to play table tennis a lot and watch movies but never lost my focus from studies.I havent planned for choosing any specialization right now, my focus is to study for MBBS and learn all the aspects of medical science. I am very excited and looking forward for the classes to get started.Careers360:What guidance would you give to the future aspirants of AIIMS MBBS exam?Navsheen:The strategy that should be followed for AIIMS aspirants is to focus on NCERT books along with other study materials. It is important for every medical aspirant to be thorough about the syllabus of NCERT books as it helps in long run.Candidates must devote most of their time towards their studies and focus on every single aspect of the syllabus because no one knows what type of questions can come. Another thing that I followed and think that made me a topper is hard work, routine study and passion towards your dream.A son of doctor parents, Oshin wants to continue his family profession of becoming a doctor and he finally achieved this by cracking the most coveted medical exam AIIMS MBBS. He aims to take admission in AIIMS Delhi and practice this profession by heart, as his parents did. In this interview with Careers360, he shares his mantra for success for the medical examinations. He further explains the importance of self study and revision as a part of preparation strategy for most of the entrance exams.Oshin, who deactivated his Facebook account and kept his mobile phone aside to secure MBBS seats in AIIMS and other medical entrance exam, shares his plans in this interview with Careers360.Excerpts from the interview:Careers360:Congratulations, its a proud moment. How are you celebrating this achievement?Oshin Bhatia:Thank you so much. It feels great to be among the top five rankers and there are celebrations in the family and people are sending their best wishes. Though I was confident about cracking AIIMS but this AIR 4 came as a surprise and I am very overwhelmed with this great success.Careers360:Tell us what made you select MBBS as a Career?Oshin Bhatia:I was keen to join this profession since my childhood. Actually becoming a doctor is like a family profession. Besides my parents, most of my cousins are either doctors or are studying medicine. So, I grew up in this environment and this is what I have always liked. There is nothing else I wanted to be in this world. Careers360:What was your preparation strategy?Oshin Bhatia:I have a well planned strategy for preparation which includes routine studies, regular mock test and revision. Firstly, I covered all the topics from NCERT books and then for detail studies I referred different reference study materials for developing clear concepts. I found with clear concepts on subjects helps me to solve assertion based questions which were asked in AIIMS entrance exam.Theres not only one key factor that helps in scoring high. Self study, hard work and your passion towards studies will help you to sail with flying colours.Careers360:You prepared so hard and your hard work has paid so well. Were you active in any recreational activity?Oshin Bhatia:I did all the recreational activities like playing cricket and watching TV. It is very important to indulge yourself in recreational activities beside studies as they help you in studying with more fresh and focused mind. I devoted time for recreational activities and it has helped me succeeding.Careers360:How did you prepare for AIIMS 2015? How much time did you devote for studies? What are the other medical exams you have appeared in?Oshin Bhatia:Apart from AIIMS MBBS, I was preparing for AIPMT, Punjab PMET and GGSIPU simultaneously. I used to devote 4 to 5 hours in coaching centre and 5 to 6 hours in self study. I used to solve previous year question papers and mock tests on weekly basis. I have secured AIR 2 in GGSIPU, AIR 18 in Punjab PMET.Careers360:So now that you are among the top rankers in many medical entrances, which college you are planning to join?Oshin Bhatia:Since my childhood I always wanted to join AIIMS New Delhi. And, now I have secured such good rank I will definitely join AIIMS only. It will be like a dream come true situation for me.Careers360:You also appeared in AIPMT 2015, since the paper is a part of controversy and the test would be re-conducted again. What is your reaction on this?Oshin Bhatia:It is not good that AIPMT 2015 will be re-conducted. I feel bad for those who have given the exam with full preparation and zeal. I am fortunate that I dont have to appear for re-exam but feeling sad for those who have to appear. Every one of us has a temperament towards exam and same cannot be repeated.Careers360:Any suggestions for AIIMS aspirants?Oshin Bhatia:I would like to tell the future aspirants to study thoroughly the entire syllabus. Candidates must have a basic clarity on concepts and should have studied NCERT Books completely. As AIIMS exams have a different section for GK and Assertion, study newspaper daily and solve aptitude questions on weekly basis.Dont be nervous at any stage. If you are willing to achieve, you will achieve it. Follow a simple strategy of revising and do not get relaxed after writing your exam. Take maximum one day gap and start preparing for the next level.Careers360:We wish you good luck for all your future endeavors and Thank you for this great interview.Oshin Bhatia:Thank you so much!

Careers360:It is a proud moment. How are you celebrating this achievement?Ansh Gupta:At this moment, many wishes are coming in from friends, relatives and well-wishers.I am very much happy and I cant believe that I have secured AIR 3 in AIIMS MBBS 2015. I was expecting a good rank but AIR 3 was unexpected for me. My hard work and good wishes from my family member finally paid off with this outstanding result.Careers360:Please tell us about your family background?Ansh Gupta:My father and Mother are doctors and practicing in Hyderabad.Since my childhood, I wanted to follow my parents footstep. It feels great when your parent feels proud because of you.Careers360:How did you prepare for AIIMS 2015? How much time did you devote for studies?Ansh Gupta:Actually, I havent prepared particularly for AIIMS. I was preparing for JIPMER, AIPMT, TS EAMCET and AP EAMCET simultaneously. I used to study 7 to 8 hours a day including my coaching classes. But, one month before the medical entrance exams, I was studying 12 hours a day. I used to solve previous year question papers and take mock tests, which help me lot to analyze my preparation and gradually enhance my performance level in terms of speed, accuracy and time management.Careers360:How did you attempt AIIMS 2015 online questions paper? Did you follow any strategy while attempting the question paper?Ansh Gupta:As Biology is my favorite subject I attempted it first followed by Chemistry and Physics. Then, I attempted GK section followed by English Comprehension. First I attempted the section in which I am strong, it gives me a chance to ease my exam pressure and boost your confidence levelCareers360:What was your preparation strategy?Ansh Gupta:I keep on learning and practicing whatever topics and concepts taught to me in my class at 10+2 level. I always worked hard for having conceptual understanding rather than cramming. Biology was my strength followed by Chemistry and Physics. With the help of NCERT Books, I have improved my basics concepts. Whatever I was taught in coaching classes, I used to revise it on daily basis.Careers360:Have you appeared in AIPMT? Since the paper has been cancelled what is your reaction over this. Will appear for AIPMT 2015 re exam?Ansh Gupta:It is very unfair to the candidates who actually worked hard and appeared in the test. We had givenAIPMTwith good preparation and focus. According to me, I would be difficult to give AIPMT again with same level of energy and focus. I will not appear forAIPMT 2015 re-exambecause I got my dream medical college.Careers360:So now that you are among the top rankers in many medical entrances, which college you are planning to join?Ansh Gupta:Before AIIMS Result, I had made my mind to join JIPMER and was leaving for JIPMER MBBS Counselling which will begin from June 22, 2015 (Monday). But after such an excellent result, I will definitely join AIIMS. As AIIMS is one of the top medical colleges in India and is my dream college too.Careers360:Do you think coaching is necessary to crack AIIMS MBBS?Ansh Gupta:I cant say coaching is necessary to crack AIIMS MBBS but yes it does help in scoring high. My performance was at average level when I started my preparation but with the help of coaching classes and mock tests, I improved a lot. Throughout my preparation, I improved test by test and finally scored good rank in AIIMS.Careers360:Was it all studying for you or there were any recreational breaks during your study hours?Ansh Gupta:When I was in first year of my college, I used to play Basket Ball as it is my favourite sport. But in second year, my focus was on studies only, so I did not spend much time on other activities. Whenever I get bored from studies, I watched TV. It is important to take short breaks during studies. These breaks helped me in studying with a fresh and focused mind.Careers360:Any suggestions for AIIMS aspirants?Ansh Gupta:I would like to tell the future aspirants to study thoroughly your syllabus without missing NCERT Books. Candidates must have clear concept in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. As AIIMS questions are reason and assertion based so it is important to have clear concept of subjects so that one can differentiate between right and wrong options. Time management is the key to score good marks. I advise candidates to first attempt simple and those questions which they feel confident about. And then go for the difficult questions in the second round.
