Our product is a lock system that allows the user to monitor who has been visiting his/her
home and to unlock and the lock doors from a distance in response. It offers parents and college
students security and convenience by providing them with surveillance and remote control.
When someone rings the doorbell, a picture of the ringer is automatically taken and sent to the
user’s phone. Based on the picture, the user can text a response that will either open the door or
keep it shut. The value proposition of this product is control and security for the user. The
product allows the user to have complete control over his/her lock system from wherever he/she
may be, and the product itself also acts as a deterrent and a resolution for theft, giving the user a
sense of security over whatever and whoever may be inside the house, dorm, or building. We
have three major market segments. We will first target college students who want to prevent
dorm room theft and want to be able to give easy access to their dorm room to their friends. We
also will target families who want to feel secure leaving their children at home to tend to other
business. Our third target segment will be senior citizens and those with disabilities; we provide
a solution for these people who find it difficult to reach the door. The product’s customers are
social people with many friends or parents who are concerned for their kids’ safety. Our product
is differentiated because it provides immediate and easily accessible notifications. Lastly, since
our product is so easy that little children can access it and understand it, our product gives
parents the security that their children will take the proper precautions in the face of strangers.
