nbn™ Sky Muster™ nbn is launching two dedicated world class satellites to service regional and rural areas that fall outside the fixed line and fixed wireless areas:

1. Sky Muster™ launched in October 2015 2. The second satellite is expected to launch later in 2016.

Where are we now?

Confidential Commercial-in-Confidence

Currently trialling the service with our partners. Launch of Commercial Satellite Services is planned for May 2016 after testing and trials of the satellites has been completed. We anticipate that RSP’s will be able to sell internet services to homes and businesses from May 2016.

Sky Muster™ a game changer for farmers The two combined new nbn broadband satellites will deliver wholesale speeds to our wholesale customers of:

• up to 25 Mbps wholesale download speeds* around 4 times the wholesale speed of the current Interim Satellite solution (ISS)

• up to 5 Mbps Wholesale upload speeds * equivalent to many of the wholesale speeds available over other nbn™ network technologies

• 135Gbps of system capacity or around 30 times more than Interim Satellite Service (ISS)

• 12/1 Mbps wholesale speeds will also be available*

Confidential Commercial-in-Confidence

*We’re designing the nbn™ to provide these speeds to our wholesale customers, phone and internet providers. End user experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ network, depends on the technology over which services are delivered to your premises and some factors outside our control like equipment quality, software, broadband plans and how the end user’s service provider designs its network.

Education product

• nbn™ is progressing plans to provide a second dedicated

port for eligible distance education students

• Distance education services to have their own data allowance

– separate from the home service

• 25/5 Mbps* wholesale speeds

• Service Provider determines pricing and manages the plans

*We’re designing the nbn™ to provide these speeds to our wholesale customers, phone and internet providers. What this means for farmers

Currently on ISS • ISS delivered over two existing lower capacity third party satellites

• coverage over a much broader geographic region

• total capacity of around 4Gbps

• a single port at the home

In comparison nbn™ Sky Muster™ will offer: • Better connectivity

• Better quality

• Operate more efficiently by using new cloud-based software

Managing for quality experience

Fair use policy • Even with capacity improvements, satellite

technology has finite limits

• Ensure end users get a fair go on the service especially during peak usage times

• The policy will be enforced and carefully managed with RSP’s

Switching to the new nbn™ satellite service

• Switching to the new nbn™ satellite service is not automatic

• You will need to contact your preferred internet service provider to order a suitable plan

• nbn expects to have capacity to manage ISS migration and new orders simultaneously

• We are aiming for 10,000 migrations per month

• Services will be installed between 20 -35 business days from accepting an order from your RSP

Proposed ordering process - consumer services

The Process

• The RSP receives an order – indicates a delivery timeframe

based on the region

• nbn contacts the end-user within two business days to set an

installation date

• The RSP is notified when appointment date has been set

• The End-User receives a call from nbn approximately 24-hours

prior to confirm

• Equipment installed, tested, completed

Sky Muster™ equipment installed at premises

• Network Termination Device (NTD) installed on the outside of the premises with an unobstructed view of the satellite.

• Internal NTD located where it can connect to the outdoor unit using approximately 50 metre cable.

• The nbn™ supplied equipment, installation and ongoing network maintenance is generally at no cost to the end user. (Incidental costs may apply for homes that cannot be readily accessed by road).

De-installation & removal of ISS equipment • The new NTD will be installed before the de-installation of the old ISS NTD.

(If the end user requests the same location of the existing satellite service, a brief interruption of service will occur).

• The end user can request de-installation of NSS or ABG equipment, but nbn may charge the service provider for this service.

• nbn is unable to remove NSS and ABG equipment from the premises as it doesn’t belong to nbn.
