Competition Format
• Five Teams of Two • Flighted Play - #1’s play each other; #2’s play each
other, etc.• Dual Match: winner of 3 of 5 doubles matches– 2/3 – first two to 21; 3rd to 15 if needed; win all by two
• Tournament: Cumulative points won in each flight– Length of sets based on number of competitions and time
available for play

Sand Volleyball (w Indoor)…….2 (Effective Immediately)

Recommended Financial Aid Hierarchy to Prevent Stockpiling
Athletics aid provided for sand volleyball counts towards the indoor limit of 8, but indoor athletics aid would not count towards the legislated limit for sand.
Playing & Practice Season
• First Date of Practice-Championship Segment – January 10 or the first day of classes
• First Date of Competition-Championship Segment – February 1
• First Date of Practice – Non-championship Segment– September 7 or the first day of classes
• End Date of Practice and Competition – Non-championship Segment. – November 15
Indoor/Sand Complement• Overlapping IN-SEASON training segments– All participants on one squad list (SAND)– Effectively INDOOR training as SAND team
• IN/OUT SEASON Situation– Strength and conditioning training– Skill instruction
Playing & Practice Season
• End of the Championship Segment– end of school year w/ option of season-ending
event after close of year.• Minimum Number of Participants – 10• Number of Dates – Minimum – 8 – at least 3 duals – Maximum – 16 traditional & 4 non-traditional

• How to’s, what & costs on AVCA Website• Net Systems – Sports Imports – official supplier of FIVB
Uniforms
• Similar to guidelines for NCAA Track and Gymnastics – no bare midriff

• Division II Presidents Council: – August 6 Final Proposal
