Each Corps officer must possess and maintain current, unrestricted licensure, and/or valid credentials appropriate for his/her profession as specified in the CCI 231.03

NCCPA certification is the primary credential for PAs in the USPHS

Each Corps officer must provide proof of current, unrestricted licensure, certification, or registration required by his/her profession to practice in his/her assigned field. The expiration date of the license/certification/registration must be clearly identified (CCI 251.01)

An officer is required to submit a clear and verifiable copy of his/her current certification as required by the Category Specific Appointment Standards. Following appointment, an officer appointed based on such credentials is required to maintain current certification documentation in his/her eOPF (CCI 251.01)

Non-compliance with this policy may result in disciplinary action. Disciplinary action may include but is not limited to:

- involuntary separation - temporary grade reversion - denial of special pays - removal from promotion consideration CCI 251.01 Professional Licensure and

There have been recent issues due to poor quality copies of NCCPA wallet cards being faxed to the OCCO Licensure Technician

This presentation outlines a method to standardize submissions to ensure certifications are accurately represented

On NCCPA’s home page, you will see a section titled “Verify PA Certification”. Type your SSN or NCCPA # in the appropriate box and click “Verify”.

In the “e-mail verification” section, enter information as shown; however enter YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS. Then click “Submit Request” at the bottom of the page.

This page will then be displayed indicating a successful submission. Now check your e-mail.

Via e-mail, you will receive a pdf document suitable for submission to OCCO for certification verification.

Ensure to write your name and PHS number in the upper right corner of the document to aide in e-OPF submittal.
