POSITION VACANT JOB DESCRIPTION NCIG, Australia’s leading coal export terminal is committed to the health, safety and well being of our people. We have an excellent safety performance record and a safety culture of citizenship that is fostered by employees and contractors alike. This role reports to the Safety Leader and is responsible for providing field support to our committed leaders on NCIG’s safety framework. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL INCLUDE: Provide on-site contact and support for team leaders and managers to manage their H&S responsibilities, particularly on major works, shutdowns and projects Ensure site safety inspections and audits are completed as per schedule Undertake HSEC interactions to ensure that unsafe work and risks are identified and addressed by leaders Carry out drills and exercises for emergency situations Work with leaders to provide support and advice on fire prevention, machine guarding, hazardous material, working at heights, confined space and other high-risk activities to NCIG’s operations Through an onsite presence, support the implementation and ensure compliance by leaders to the site H&S systems Participate in the delivery and coordination of training, onboarding, and inductions Work with our contract workforce to ensure a consistent application of our safety systems across the site. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE: Tertiary qualifications in H&S (eg H&S Certificate IV) or other related discipline or substantial experience in a similar role Experience in an industrial environment or heavy industry Trade or technical background Excellent working knowledge of H&S regulations and standards relevant to NCIG’s operational activities (Confined Space, Working at Heights, rigging, welding, isolation) and other high-risk activities Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence safe work practices Excellent working knowledge of MS office including accurate data entry skills We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work and the ability to work across all echelons of the business.
