The spinner motor is responsible for sending the laser dot into space to read the UPC code. The faster the motor, the more

beams. The more beams, the better chance the cashier has of scanning the item.

Once outside the scanner windows, the “LASER BEAM DOT” is responsible for crossing over the UPC (Universal Product Code) as

the item is passed across the scanner.

This is an example of the same label moved away from competitive scanners. It appears out of focus.

would have on a moving product and how many times you can reach the location with a spot of laser light.
