SNOWGRASS WINERY 6701 Entiat River Rd • Entiat, WA 98822 509-784-5101 • www.snowgrasswines.com Call for hours

Snowgrass Winery, founded in 2008 by Alan Moen and Susan Kidd, was the first premium winery to be established in the Entiat River Valley. It is located along the beautiful Entiat River, which flows eastward into the Columbia from the heart of the Glacier Peak Wilderness. The dry mountain climate, moderated by the presence of the river, is marked by warm days and cool nights, ideal for growing grapes with great varietal character.

Owner and winemaker Alan Moen has had a long history in Northwest winemaking. While working as barrel cellarmaster at Columbia Winery, he helped make the region's first single-vineyard Merlot in 1987 and the first Northwest Syrah in 1988. Moen first planted the Snowgrass vineyard in 2000 with Cabernet Franc, Lemberger, Sangiovese, and Syrah. The small farmhouse winery uses sheep to mow its organic vineyard. Goats and chickens also provide fertilizer for the grapes.

Snowgrass specializes in the production of aromatic, dry rosés, and also produces a red table wine, Roaring Creek Red, as well as Silver Falls Syrah, Menagerie Merlot, Entiatqua (a Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend), and End of the Road Sangiovese Nouveau. Visitors are welcomed for tours and tastings by appointment. The winery also hosts several events during the year, including "Spring Fourth!" and "Good Baa to Summer."

WEDGE MOUNTAIN WINERY 9534 Saunders Rd • Peshastin, WA 98847 509-548-7068 • www.wedgemountainwinery.com

Fri-Mon 10am-5pm

Guided and Self-Guided Tours Available On Request.

Wedge Mountain Winery is a small, family-owned winery located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains near Leavenworth. They specialize in Bordeaux-style varietals and blends, handcrafted using their own estate vineyards and selected quality vineyards in eastern Washington. Their wines have proudly won awards in both local and international competitions.

The vineyards are located along the beautiful Wenatchee River, and visitors are invited to visit with the owners when in the winery. But first, sample wine in the unique, underground wine cellar and tasting room, or enjoy the surrounding picnic area. During the winter months, visitors are invited into their straw bale building, where young wine in barrels completing the fermentation process can be viewed, and wine can be sipped at their "one-of-a-kind" bar.

A walk to the vineyard may begin from a point overlooking the river, then continue past the big red barn, along the pasture fences to visit the horses, then on to the vineyard for a closer look at the beautiful Wenatchee River; the tour is both peaceful and refreshing. Return to the winery by a meander through apple and pear trees.

Acreage and Production: Wedge Mountain Winery produces eight different varieties of vitis vinifera, the European wine grape. First planted in 1999 on an experimental basis, and now producing between one and three tons annually, the best two varietals have since been selected for further planting. In the spring of 2006, winemaker-owner Charlie McKee replaced two acres of apples and pear trees with an acre each of Riesling and Lemberger in what is now known as “Stony Hill Vineyard.” Winemaker Charlie also sources grapes from top quality vineyards in eastern Washington to supplement his own production.

In the fall of 2006, Wedge Mountain Winery’s first ever “Estate” red wine was bottled from the 2005 vintage grapes in the original vineyard. Two to three years since, enjoy Estate Riesling and Estate Lemberger from their Stony Hill Vineyard.
