Life Changes Women’s Support Group A much needed support group for women over 18 has got off to a flying start in 2019 in North Halifax, and the numbers coming along continue to grow each week. Life Changes Women’s Support are a group of certified therapists, counsellors and holistic practitioners who have come together to support women in a safe group environment. Not just for mental health, they provide activities to promote emotional and physical health too including Reiki, meditation, befriending, art therapy and reflexology. Preventing suicide in Calderdale Calderdale Council press release 12 March 2019: Work begins this week to install fencing on North Bridge in Halifax, as part of Calderdale Council’s wider suicide prevention plan. At the end of last year, new CCTV cameras were installed, which have already been used to alert the Council and partners to vulnerable people on the bridge. Additional works are now taking place to install anti-climb mesh and new sloping metal covers on existing features, to reduce accessibility to the bridge’s parapets… Read more…

Single Point of Access mental health services - Survey Healthwatch Kirklees are engaging with people who have contacted the Single Point of Access (SPA) for adult mental health services in Kirklees and Calderdale. We’d love to hear from people who have called SPA themselves, or on behalf of a friend, relative or someone they care for.
