DESCRIPTION

Net Educational Advacncement Initiative on the 23rd of April conducted an activity with school children from Nursery to secondary school. They also used the opportunity to share writing materials to the school children. It was really fantastic seeing those children discussing about their problems.

Activity key achievement/Training Outputs: On the 20th April, 2011 the NEAI team went to visit a primary school fondly known as Amaubiri primary school, Lokpaukwu.This said school had produced prominent men and women in the society. But, it lacks maintenance and staffs, as most of the staff are from neighboring state, this implies that the teachers seldom come to school. When the Net Educational Advancement Initiative visited the school, the pupil to be precise class one were busy playing both inside and outside the class room. The teachers told the crew that they were compiling result for Easter break.

However, the team met with teachers to know their challenges in delivering quality service.Okerke Theresa, a teacher with primary one highlighted their challenges to include: lack of desks for the pupils, unconducive teaching environment as the class rooms is leaking, No text books as most of pupils cannot boost of a reader. On her own, Mrs. Egwuonwu took the team to their exam hall that has abandoned due the rate of dilapidation

The meeting ended in a happy note as the team assure them of her feedback while the school would leverage resources and advocate for the help of government and other bodies to come to their aid.

It was a market day but the teachers were present and were able to air their view, hence it was a break through
