WE CAN HELP!

HOW CAN CYS HELP?

Community Youth Services (CYS) is a school-based program that assists

children, youth and families who are experiencing problems by providing

free services in person or virtually such as crisis intervention, supportive

counseling, case coordination and other services. We assess the need and

link families with local community resources.

. Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 4-10)

Each year, millions of people face the reality of living with a mental health condition. 1 in 5 adults live with a mental health condition. Mental health conditions can also begin to develop in young children. Because they are still learning how to identify and talk about thoughts and emotions, their most obvious symptoms are behavioral. Symptoms in children may include the following:

Changes in school performance

Excessive worry or anxiety, for instance fighting to avoid going to bed or school

Hyperactive behavior

Frequent nightmares

Frequent disobedience or aggression

Frequent temper tantrums

If you are in crisis or are experiencing difficult or suicidal thoughts, call the

National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273 TALK (8255)

If you’re uncomfortable talking on the phone, you can also text HOME to

741741 to be connected to a free, trained crisis counselor on the Crisis Text

Line.

COVID-19 & Domestic Violence Domestic Violence Awareness Month

¡PODEMOS AYUDAR!
