The Chateau at Fouilloy during its occupation by the 13th Australian Field Ambulance as an Advanced Dressing Station. On the morning of 8 August,1918 the front line was five kilometres in advance, and during this first day of the great attack 1300 wounded, including 300 Germans, were dealt with at this station

deportees from Australian concentration camps arrive at the wharf. The Germans were about to embark on HMT Kursk to commence the return to their homeland.

Durban, South Africa. HMT Kursk carrying German deportees from Australia to Europe called

at Durban on the way. During the ship's stay the deportees were marched each day to Bluff Beach.

Durban, South Africa. A German deportee from Australia on board HMT Kursk died at sea and was buried at Durban. The man was Torpedo man Johann Petersen who had been a crew member of the German cruiser Gneisenau; he was given a full military funeral.
