ew England First Amendment Coalition (NEFAC) is planning its fourth annual New England First

Amendment Institute for September of 2014. NEFAC is offering sponsorships for our prestigious

conference. New England First Amendment Institute (NEFAI) is an intensive training course on freedom

of information laws and investigative techniques offered to selected journalists from across New England.

It brings together a stellar faculty of journalists and First Amendment attorneys to offer an extraordinary

learning experience to the New England First Amendment Institute fellows.

The goal of the New England First Amendment Coalition is to defend, promote and expand public access to government and the work it does. The coalition is a broad-based organization of people who believe in the power of transparency in a democratic society. Its members include lawyers, journalists, historians, librarians and academicians, as well as private citizens and organizations whose core beliefs include the principles of the First Amendment. The coalition works throughout all six New England states. Through its partnership with Northeastern Universitys New England First Amendment Center, it advances the cause of openness by: educating journalists, private citizens, elected officials, government employees, civic groups and others on the workings of open government laws. The Coalition also conducts awareness programs to educate the general public about their First Amendment rights and specialized programs for journalists on media law and investigative techniques.
