CONNECTIVITYPlans are underway for “The Alameda, A Beautiful Way” project.This project is a vision designed to reinvigorate a commercial center, encourage multi-modal transportation, serve residents of surrounding neighborhoods, transit users, and business owners;

The Plan is available athttp://www.sjredevelopment.org/TheAlamedaTransportationImprovements/TheAlamedaPlan.pdf

Facts and Figures• Timeline: If a new park is approved in 2011, baseball can be

played there in 2015 or 2016.• Economic Impacts: $130 million in new annual downtown

spending. $1.5 million in city general fund revenue• Jobs: The city estimates the ballpark will employ, 2,100 full

and part-time/seasonal workers. 980 jobs will be new to the area.

• Additional jobs will be created by ballpark construction.• Site: This site has long been preferred because it is big

enough and is at the intersection of Caltrain, Capital Corridor, Bart, Light Rail VTA, and High-speed rail lines
