And so life goes on……

• I was Mr. Clutch in the playing days. It started in my high school career in the state tourney. The game before sub-state, we played against Marion, game was really tight. Marion had runners 2nd and 3rd in 6th inning, we were 1 run ahead then the Marion hitter popped up ( duck snort ) between the outfielder and me, I was really running hard to catch the popped up fly behind my back. Sub-state game was a dream that we won against Davenport Assumption ( Ranked 1rst in the state with Harlan ), I had a base hit and sac fly. Anyway, in the state tourney game against Harlan, the game was tight the shortstop hit a homerun on the first pitch. The game had no errors the shortstop didn't try to field a double play ground ball that could end the game because he didn't think we could turn it when it was at the 6th inning, We had had a runner at 3rd with 2 outs and I was at bat then hit a base hit to score a run to break up the tie at the 6th. The pitcher gave the game all what he had. He walked a batter and gave up a hit. Harlan had runners at 3rd and 2nd with 2 outs, then Harlan hitter had a small pop fly bunt, Plus the pitcher forgot to bring his glove to the game, coach gave a glove to the pitcher that was shorter than the pitcher’s original glove! the pitcher really tried to catch the ball from the bunt and the ball snow coned out of the pitcher’s glove, if he had caught it with his original we would have won! Then we seen Harlan won the state championship easily!!!!!! I earned first team all- state honors for 2nd basemen.

When I played for NIACC, coach moved me to third from 2nd because the assistant coach's brother played 2nd. In my Freshman year, I had a bad year because I wasn't used to play 3rd, I had stuck with it, plugging away and practiced hard for playing 3rd in the off season. I played baseball for a semi-proball baseball team ( Worthington Cardinals ) my batting average was close to .400 when I used wooden bats and I got voted to play in the All-star game in Cascade. I played for 2 modified pitch softball teams in Dubuque and Manchester. I had really good times that summer and I really improved my game! In 1998 season I had a great season in NIACC, I batted .465 and earned 2nd team all-region honors for 3rdbase and my lifetime Batting Average is around .400. . I really worked hard because I wanted to play for UNI. Then I tried to walk on the team and it was, very hard to walk on. UNI didn't have open spot for 3rd. UNI red shirted me then I'd play for UNI next season. Then on Sept. 4th 1999, in labor day weekend I stopped over to my ex-friend after from college and he wasn't there then I went to my parents then I had my car-train accident at the very dangerous unguarded railroad crossing, then my baseball career ended when I was in my prime of my career!!!!!! ( It's very sad! ) and I was close to graduate from UNI for engineering BS degree!!!! After my accident, I try my best to put my life together, I graduated from Hawkeye for computer network technician Certification when I was in EPI and they didn’t want me to go to school, 1 worker really helped me, 2 workers and head of EPI tried there best for me not to go to school. Then I went out of EPI because I don't need them, I found a condo, living by myself and graduated from UNI for the BA degree with emphasis on computer networking. Right now I'm trying to find and get a job, it really sucks!!!! I'm the only division 1 athlete in my grade and the youngest of my class. I never thought I'm the best athlete in the class and I don't care.

personal dealings with him. I am one of the owners of the Waterloo Bucks Baseball team, it has been my pleasure to work along side Neil over the summer months, watching his focus on the details charting pitches, so our staff is better prepared to face teams in future games. The battles he faces to get around the park to the top of the press box, he handles with ease. Neil has possibly the best attitude of anyone on our staff, and I feel he could be a great addition to yours! I hope Neil can work for us again next summer, however, I know his focus is to be employed full-time and give 100% of his effort to that position. If you need any more information about my friend Neil feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Thanks a lot Jim Farrell

And so life goes on….• Newspaper articles

• I turned 30 in August. I like sports/athletics ( especially baseball ) and I'm a Chicago Cubs fan below is the links for the newspaper articles about me when I graduated from Hawkeye and UNI. The Hawkeye article is about when I graduated from Hawkeye and my car-train accident,

September 4th 1999, I had my car-train accident at an unguarded railroad crossing and after my accident there had been an accident at the same crossing as me. Before my accident I played baseball when I studied for electronics AA degree from NIACC in Mason City, earned all-region honors and I made the UNI ball team plus I played ball for a semi-pro-ball team in eastern Iowa. After the accident, I was in a coma for 5 months then I graduated from UNI and Hawkeye at 2005 for computer network technician certification and UNI at 2007 for computer network engineer BA degree. I live by myself in condo in Cedar Falls. The rear view mirror hit on my right side of my head, that's the reason my left side ( Arm/hand and leg ) plus I can't talk really well because I have a machine that talks to communicate. The reason I'm taking the class is because I really want the A+ Certification, it will look good in my resume'. My right hand/arm are strong and well coordinated but my left hand/arm doesn't work from the accident. Numerous opponent players and coaches noticed and commented my improvements on my game at 3rd base. They told me, I have improved a lot playing at third and asked me where am I going after NIACC. I told them I’m walking on at UNI studying engineering degree.

• THAT’S THE YING AND THE YANG ABOUT ME!
