Dear Parents ,

When the sun is high and the heat is great, it is time for a break! Time to go for

a vacation and pursue a recreation. Holidays are the best time to help the child

explore and develop his co curricular interests and hobbies. We have

forwarded an interesting holiday's homework which will definitely help our

children learn with fun. Kindly help and guide your ward in completing his /

her work and also exploring his / her creative self. Submit the given homework

in a folder with clearly mentioned name, class and section. It would be

wonderful if the students themselves decorate the folders with their tiny

hands.

We wish you a wonderful time ahead !

Good Manners are lifelong assets and must be practised until they become a

habit.

Four magic words that are basics of good manners are – Please, Thank you,

Excuse me and Sorry. Make these four words a habit for your child and see the

difference.

MANNERS

At home:

• Encourage him/her to be polite.

• Help him/her to become responsible.

At the dining table:

• Give your child small helpings and refills and help him/her finish the food

in his/her plate.

• Encourage him/her to take small bites, eat slowly without spilling with

his/her mouth closed.

• Make your child help you to clear the table and clean up.

Good Habits

• Teach your child to brush his/her teeth twice a day.

• Do trim his/her nails as often as required.

• Teach him/her not to waste water and electricity.

• Help your child to keep the surroundings and environment clean. It is a

bad habit to throw things out of the window, car or a balcony.

• Buttoning and unbuttoning his/ her shirt.

• Arranging their toy shelf.

• Learn how to wear shoes and socks.

• Learn how to zip your school bag and clothes.

ASSIGNMENTS

Part-1

English -

1. Revise ( do written practice ) all the work done in the class and also do

practice of picture reading.

2. Complete pages – 18,19,23,24,27,28,40,41,45,46,50 and 51 of “

Banyan Tree”, Term -1 book , pages- 17, 18, 24, 25, 48, 49 of Term-

2 book , pages- 37,38 of Term-3 book ( only capital letters ).

3. Learn any 2 short stories of your choice. ( 4-5 lines)

Creative corner - Make flash cards of the alphabets given in the school

diary. Paste or draw pictures. You can use any bright coloured A-4 size

pastel sheet. Border the sheets with glitter tape. Make the cards as

creative as you can with the topic allotted to you.

Creative corner - Make sheets as shown below. It will be on a A - 4 size sheet

( as shown in the Picture ) Draw or paste number and its respective number of

pictures. You can use any bright coloured pastel sheet. Border the sheets

with glitter tape. Your topic is mentioned in the school diary. Make the sheet

as creative as you can with the numbers allotted to you.

Art and Craft work -

1. Complete the colouring book- “ Art Activity – Part - A. ”

2. Draw any 2 pictures of your choice on A-4 size light coloured pastel

sheets. Border the sheets with glitter tape. Colour one picture with

vegetable printing and other one with coloured paper by tearing and

pasting.

3. Make a chart on the topic ( given in the school diary ) on the pastel

sheet of any colour. The size of the chart should be 20 x 20 inches.

Part - 2

Art & Craft

Making of a peacock

Materials Required :-

Fabric Colours(royal blue, dark green & yellow) , Plastic Spoons, Glitter paper,

Ear bud, Pencil , Scissors, fevicol, Paint Brushes, decorative stones

Begin by making the feathers of the peacock. Grab a handful of plastic spoons

and paint them using fabric colours in strokes and designs, forming the design

of the peacock’s feathers. Let the paint of the spoons dry completely. Cut out

the body, neck, face and beak of the peacock from a pastel sheet. Then take a

circular pastel sheet . Paste the decorative glitter sheet on one side. Arrange and

paste the plasticspoons on this glitter circular base.Your Craft base is ready

Take the cotton buds and paint them in blue colour for the peacock's body. Paste

them on the peacock's body with fevicol and retouch them with colour is

required. Cut and paste the bowl section of a spoon to make the peacock's face

and add the detailing of eyes to it.

Making of paper plate owl -

Materials required-

small paper plates ,various colors of acrylic paint ,paint brush ,scissors , stapler

, fevicol , colored pastel sheet

Directions:

1. Paper plates work so well to make owls, so we stuck with them on this

project. Start by painting three small paper plates one color. Let them dry

completely.

2. After your paper plates are dry, use a different color to paint a pattern on one

of the paper plates to use as the body for the owl.

3. After the pattern is dry that you painted, take another one of the painted

paper plates and cut it in half to use as the wings. I used a stapler to attach them

to the body. You could also use a generous amount of fevicol.

4. Next, use a generous amount of fevicol to attach the last paper plate to the

body as the head of the owl.

5. Cut out eyes, black pupils and a nose out of pastel sheets and fevicol them on

to the face.

6. Lastly cut a slit out of the top of the owls head to finish your owl. You can

also do this step before attaching it to the body.They turned out so colorful and

pretty.
