At risk students - who we take
• Interyouth works with those students who while being registered at school are not attending
• Those students who can’t cope with the school structure
• Students the HSLO’s are working with
Class basics
• Classes 9.30 to 11.30 or 12.30 to 2.30pm• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday• 3 trainers in the room• Progress can be tailored to clients needs• Attendance sheets sent back to relevant
schools each day
What we need from school
• The reason the student is being referred• What you want for the student• Would you take the student back to school – if
yes what would they need to do• When referring a student is there any conflict
with another student we are working with• A central contact person
Changes for 2012
• Interyouth staff will visit each of our schools once a term or during terms 2 and 4 to review each of the students and discuss their next step plan
• After the school has referred a student and we have interviewed the parent and the young person we will contact the school to advise if the student will be attending Interyouth. The school then makes out the Links referral which can be emailed or faxed back to us
Term 4
• We will be sending to partner schools next week the agreement for 2012
• These need to be signed off and returned to us by the end of term 4
• We will be sending a report on each of the students to their school in the next couple of weeks.
