From week 4 onwards in Year 6, list 31 will be used to test children on a range of spelling rules to recap those learnt in Year 5. Each week the children will be tested on 3 common exception words and 7 spellings taken from the Regular Spellings list on list 31. The 7 spellings could be given to the children to revise, or they could be given the spelling rule to revise and some example words that could arise in the test. Where homophones/near-homophones are used the children need to be given specific words to revise for their spelling test.
