About The Artist• Nestor Juarez a 26 yr. old, Mexican-

American• Grew up in Cypress Park with 2 sisters, 2

brothers, both parents who's father was always working

• He dropped out of high school at the age of 16, and began to hustle to get his money. His escape out of the house was the streets, the streets consisted of guns shots, money, and drugs where the things that happened and things he needed to do to get by. He then got send to Mexico for his bad behavior

• He then came back at age 17, got his life together, went back to school and got his diploma and enrolled in college.

• During high school he began to get into music but never really pursued it until he was 20, soon after got signed to a record label

• He soon became a father, and decided to leave the street life behind and got a full time job at a medical facility and is now majoring in business.

Motivations• His motivation is seeing what people go

through.• How people live and letting the world

know how it is in the hood• Trying to bring awareness on how people

struggle and how their still trying to make it out.

• Want people to see what he sees through his music

• Make it so the listeners can understand the struggles he suffers to make a better life for him and the community

• Want listeners to see what his friends go through as well (i.e. Friends facing 10, 20 yrs. To life in prison )

• Biggest motivation is for the kids and teenagers not have to do or go through the gang life. Hopes all the pain and struggle in the music makes them not want to be apart of that life.

Era Where/Are They Producing Their Art

• Grew up in the gangster rap era (i.e. 2pac, eazy-e, nwa, snoop dogg, dr.dre,) but is trying to make his music more hip-hop so listeners can understand the message is putting on the music

• Makes a lot of west coast music but wants to make music so people in the east coast and all over the world can relate to it and understand it.

• Wants to take the music back to the gangster rap era, but stay relevant with the music in 2013.

Art Political• Ness talks about in his music how

Obama focused on immigration but yet people are still being deported, talks about how Obama promised things but are not coming through.

• Raps about how all kinds of things happen in the community but no one tends to show or talk about what happens in the hood.

• Raps about how people are loosing their houses, people being unemployed, they have to rely on welfare, or get income in bad ways.

• Raps about how instead of throwing millions at president candidates, they should throw some money to fix parks, make sports more affordable for kids in low income communities can play and escape all the negative influences.

Challenging • The challenge is for people to actually try to do better for

themselves and theirs family.• Trying to make the community a better place for families and

children.• Trying to have society to help people out so they can break the

cycle that families live in low income communities.• Biggest challenge for people is to recognize you don’t have to be “

hood” if you live in the “ hood “.

Message To The Public

• Trying to show kids and single mothers that’s theirs a way out the hood.

• Ness is fortunate to be able to send a message for the next generation to her so they wont have to live or go through in a bad path

• To make people better themselves not for us, but for them and the community.

What Attracted You To The Artist

• First of all, he’s my boy so I had to support him

• The stories being told in the music

• Mix the poetry being said with the melodies

• Tries to target people so they can actually feel what he’s feeling, all the pain and energy he puts on his music

• Doing it for the people who actually lived or have lived that life.
