NETBALL WA RESOURCE LIST Dare To Develop A Diamond 11-13 year old Netball is a late specialisation sport. This means it requires a more generalised approach to early training. The emphasis is on development of general fundamental motor and technical/ tactical skills. The development stage (learning to train – developing athletes) concentrates on fundamental sport skills like throwing, catching jumping, running and basic game formats that encourage fun, skill development and decision-making. The chronological age is 11 – 13 years. This 72-page resource offers valuable physical, technical and tactical skill development activities to ensure your athlete enjoys their netball experience from the very beginning. Produced by Netball Australia high performance staff in 2012, reprint in 2014, this is a must have coaching resource.
