1. System Overview

The NetBrain system has five components: Customer License Server (CLS), Workspace Server (WSS), Automation

Server (AS), Network Server (NS), and Workstation.

Enterprise Server is an intelligent back-end that manages shared workspace, users and also provides proxy

service to live network and benchmark service. It consists of the following servers:

o Customer License Server manages node and seat licenses, and also manages user accounts.

o Workspace Server manages all Server Workspaces and offers services to all Workstations, Network Server, and

Automation Server.

o Server Workspace stores live data and benchmark data in a shared workspace and shares them with all

Workstation users.

o Automation Server processes search request and scheduled auto discovery.

It shares the load of the Workstation and other servers to build data index as well as the Layer 2 and Layer 3

topology in all shared workspaces and can improve the performance of the Workstation when you work on a

shared workspace with a large volume of data.

o Network Server collects live network data via CLI and SNMP and provides proxy and benchmark services.

The supported proxy protocols are SNMP, Ping, Trace, Telnet, and SSH. You can configure Jumpbox for the

Telnet or SSH proxy services if necessary.
